HP Customer Support Stinks!
It's bad enough you are forced to speak with someone that barely speaks English only to be told that you MUST pay shipping to return their defective equipment that is still under warranty.
When my Samsung quit working under warranty thay sent me a refurb, I sent the old one back and paid no shipping charge.

I just had to get a refurbished all in one from HP and I didn't have to pay shipping. Because mine was out of warranty I did have to pay for the refurbished replacement but it was a lot cheaper then buying a brand new one, plus the refurb comes with a one year warranty also. I would check again with them. You should not have to pay shipping!

Is it the "One-year, return to HP authorized service center warranty"? If so, can you just take it to an authorized service center? I agree, you shouldn't have to pay - did you get a RMA number? Call customer service (I'm sure you already did).
The down side - a real PIA, but the up-side is that the shipping cost is tax deductible.

double check with some other service rep at HP. Last year, we didn't have to pay shipping when one of our HP's needed to be exchanged while still under warranty. Matter of fact, if I remember right, HP sent the replacement and included a shipping label for UPS with it.

Re: HP Customer Support Stinks!..Lily
I was told that it depends on what model you have. Blah, blah, blah. My HP 3015 has been a workhorse, my 1320 is my "spare" and is rarely used, but HP insists that I pay $34.00 for shipping to cover a machine that they can not insure will last THEIR warranty period. A$$ Holes!
Stand behind your work. (period)
