Harry!!!
I am very concerned about this website.I had a call from a signing service today and accepted a signing from them. The person inquired about whether I was signed up with NOTROT and I said no, but was seriously considering it. The person then indicated that the forums were pretty obnoxious and vile. I felt very dissapointed that such a statement was made, but could not think of anything to say to defend your site as I knew this was true.Kick the ones that are making you lose money off the site. There are always new people who would join and make it worthwhile for your business!!!

Re: Harry!!! You read my mind
After yesterday...and the last several day being here. I'm going to put off joining. When posters put things in writing where people can print and share it around their office. A poster could be risking signing jobs.
I wouldn't want someone to think I was anyway like the sarcastic replies to people that are unfamiliar with the (seasoned) Notaries on this board. My first impression were, while some were understanding. Most act as if they hate newcomers to the business.
I've asked myself do you really want to be apart of this forum? I keep telling myself look at the big picture market your business and stay away from the notary talk. What if I lose it one day...will the SS, TC LO think I can't control my temper when on a signing for them? I can't afford to take that risk.
My concerns are not all about the people here, moreover, what will a potential agency will think of me if they read my post to see how I handle my attitude while being under attack? I don't blame them I would like to see how a person deal with rude people.
While some are saying how slow it is just maybe those agencies got word about NR and told others in the business to checked this forum and got a eye full.
I took my oath today, and I'm considering voiding posting anything on these threads too risky ;-) To void being connected to the sarcatic and negative energy. I'll lurk and work on getting my business off the ground. Since I'm not seasoned I doubt you'll miss my posts ;-)
It takes a lot of energy and thought to be mean and obnoxious not to mention all the screaming because someone offers a suggestion. I might reconsider but for now I'll pass.
!@*&^$%@!!....I know..I know..its okay!! ;-)

Sorry you feel that way, we're going to miss your input.(?) But now that you have some time, instead of wasting it here, you'll be able to take an english grammer course.

I have no problem being associated with NotRot nor having anyone, including SSes, Title companies and lenders, reading MY posts.
Actually, I like it when others post with foul language, sarcasm, threats, tons of misspellings, use of wrong words, bad grammar, showing morally repugnant behavior, etc., etc. etc., because it only helps to separate the wheat from the chaff. Especially in the area of professionalism and acceptable social behavior in a business environment.
As for the 'seasoned' notaries hating newcomers, that is about as far from the truth as you can get. What us "old timers" really detest is when folks do not even try to do any research before asking questions. Many 'newbies' come here thinking they are entitled to be handed all the answers, knowledge and contacts to them on silver platters. Sorry, but in business it doesn't work that way, and this IS a business.

Concur with Paul
As another "mature" NSA, I believe that Paul is correct. The word "mature " here is used for more than Paul's and my age, it means to act like an adult. This concept has nothing to do with chronology. When my six year old grandchild acts out, her parents give her a time out and refrain from giving her the attention she is looking for. She soon stops her bad behavior, when she sees that she is not getting a reaction. I will not even respond with the new :x concept when someone here acts like a six year old. Ignore them and they will go away .

You know its really okay with me if we can agree to disagree. When you read a post you disagree its okay to not reply I do it often.
I promise I will make sure I don't ask you a question.

That's okay with me its your right I hate it it doesn't have any notary value in it for me. I can always go to the street and hear it.
Some of you have made it clear that you must reply to every post and if its not to your liking the egos go haywire. I will tell you this!! I don't need your help I'll figure it out!!
You do not have to reply to my post I got you loud point and clear!!
By the way since I haven't asked for a silver platter from anyone. I promise I will never ever bother you!!

Re: My opinion
Wendy I don't believe the post was directed at you per se
I see from earlier posts by you that you are a real "newbie" only expecting to get your commission this month (Hope you got it by now) Reading your posts, you have done research and are doing your utmost to learn this business. I see no "basic question" newbie posts from you. I predict you are going to do well in this business, you are obviously willing to go the extra mile to learn all you can.
Paul's post regarding liking it when others post will foul language etc, is because companies will see those posts, and those that are posting with the foul language etc - the unprofessionalism - are not the ones to be called first for a signing.
If there is anything I can help you with, my information is in my profile. I wish you lots of signings (Just know it may take a while to get established as saturated as CA is - but I get the impression you will stick at it

Re: My opinion Thank you Sylvia
I will...When I found the post 33325 I knew I found gold ;-) kept me busy for over 2 months gosh I was so appreciative for tha message. Next thing I knew I was rolling trying to get it together.
I understand people want answers ASAP emergencies fine. But having two months to get ready there's no excuse not to know something about the business since yhoo started the search engines now the websites have their search. I've spent hours going through posts the more I read the better my understanding became.
When I learned how to trade stocks I love it but it took me 6 months to really get it. When I did I did really well as a newbie. I wanted to teach everyone who would listen. That soon got very old all they really wanted the money not the education and so as something happens they don't have a clue and I found myself being asked over and over about basic minor stuff. After I asked please learn the basic and they never did so I stop answering the phone.
and I stopped handfeding so I know what you are are saying I've been there and it does it frustrating. Now I'm very selective in who I help and I tell the all the bad things that could happen first if they really want to learn they will follow through.
I guess I felt the comments about the newbies included me because I know I never came here expecting a silver platter to be handed to me and I don't mine buying information. I'm feeling much better now after today. This is a very serious business and I want to be good at loan signing if I work harder learning the business.
Thank you for taking the time and I will take you up on your offer!! ;-)

Wendy, It would also be beneficial for you to create a profile and link that profile to who you are here on the board. Many people have said "you would be surprised who reads this board"
