Increasing HP Laser Jet 3380 Memory
I just purchased an HP Laser Jet 3380 All-in-One which comes w/ 32 mb of memory. I would like to increase it by 64 mb to 96 mb total. The HP part # for a 64 mb 110-pin memory chip is C7846A, and the "replacement" part # is Q1887A or Q1887-67901.
I ordered an HP-compatible memory for C7864A from www.memorysuppliers.com for $29. The first chip didn't work and I got a 79 Error Message. They sent me a replacement and that one didn't work either. Obviously, their memory was not all that HP-compatible.
Has anyone successfully purchased HP-compatible memory for the 3380, and if so, what was the part # and who was the supplier? The cost to order this part directly from HP is the unbelievable price of $359 which is just a little bit out of my price range at the moment.
Any help would be most appreciated!

Try E-bay.
I have upgraded both my printers and all 3 computers with memory from sellers on e-bay with NO problems and a lot less $.
If you want to know the seller I got mine memory from, e-mail me and I will give you his info.
Support the troops, we lost 3 more today.
