Is my HP1300 about to kick the bucket?

After every page, my printer makes a sound that can only be decribed as the sound of a bird chirping (so much so, that at first I was looking out my window to try to find the little critter). Is this a prelude to disaster? Time to replace it before it breaks down in the middle of a last minute e-doc signing? (Sorry, I know the phrase "last minute e-doc signing" is rather redundant)

FlaMac are you using a ghost writer? You haven't

ever been funny before. I guess there is a first time for everything. Who knew?

Re: It's clogged with dust from lack of use.

I guess only someone that has experienced that problem would know that sound.

I have same printer - here's the skinny

I take it to repair shop around 1x a year for paper jams.

Shop says paper feed parts are common problem with 1300. That's what usually needs to be replaced. Not expensive.

They tell me I reuse my cartridges too much. (6-7 uses starting w/ second hand)
Now I use a refurb cartridge only 4x. Overused cartridges are hard on paper feed parts.

Take it to your shop for a look. Get the printer cleaned 1x / yr.

Try compressed air and perhaps if you can find one a maintenance kit replacing the feed rollers. A laser printer can last forever by doing just those two things.
