Jahari, I am not sure why you think it is interesting, but I think it is interesting because there is not a notarial block on these things (in most cases) but there could be, of course. This is evidence of the failing of this organization, IMHO. Perhaps you feels the same.
Notary organizations (IMHO) should try to be more specific to new notaries on what the function of a notary is, not writing to them about not notarizing a document without a notary block. If they'd do the former, the latter would be evident to the notary!
It is absolutely ridiculous to crank out notaries for the purpose of becoming signing agents. Because of a lack of true understanding of the meaning of being a public notary, manufacturing a population of notaries who cannot tell the difference between being a notary public and being a notary "signing agent" is a disservice to the public at large.
Why don't we all become ministers and incorporate our families into religious / non-profit organizations so we can save money on income tax and property taxes? It would be a great way to build more personal wealth? (I am being ridiculous... or am I?)

I agree Brenda...
It seems newbies are very confused about the difference between NP vs. NSA. Last night, while finishing an appointment in a not so nice neighborhood, I saw a sign in a front yard that said "Certified Notary Public." The NNA has not done us any favors.
