New PC and printer question

My old one which was not that old ,blew for some reason its under extended warranty it was the hard drive! It is being fixed I went and bought a new one ( a back up is good to have as I found out) of course the recovery disks I made are missing so now I have to buy a set from hp.
My problem I am sure is an easy fix but I can not figure out how. When I print out docs and tell the printer to print 2 copies it prints both copies at the same time,so I have to sort the docs one by one in to 2 sets. On my old pc I did not have that problem it would print one complete set then print the other one. Help Please

Somewhere in your printer preferences...

You've got collate turned on. If it wasn't 5 a.m. and I wasn't so blasted tired, I could probably tell you what tab it's under. But it's there. Somewhere.

Re: Somewhere in your printer preferences...

The collate tab should be located on the large menu that comes up when you go to the drop down menu:
File, Print...it should just be above or below the # of copies option. Unclick the collate box.
I feel your pain about you HP...mine did the same. Finally got a Dell and use the HP as a back. Haven't needed yet, knock on wood.
Let me know if this works.

Re: Somewhere in your printer preferences...

I just noticed that the collate tab is sometimes under the "Properties" tab of the File, Print selection. You can also get to it by going to Control Panel, Printers and right click on "Printing Preferences" for the designated printer(s).
