New SOX notary agreement

I've just received a new "Independent Notary Agreement" from SOX. Has anybody else read this yet? Your thoughts?

Is it even worth the paper it's written on?

Unless they gave me a retainer of oh, lets say 500$, I wouldn't bother with them. Then as long as they kept paying ahead of time- I'd work for them. Of course I'd be expecting to see a pig fly by at the same time Wink

Keep your bank routing number and your account number handy. When SOX calls, accept the assignment pending deposit of the fee into your account.

I don't know why so many still have this grudge against SOX.

I have never had any problem getting paid, in a timely manner ........ and have often been offered $150 for eDOC signings.

I guess for some it's just too much trouble to follow simple written instructions on how to get paid with them, but way too easy to complain when you don't get paid. What a shame!

Do you seriously think that ALL the notaries that complain about SOX can't follow directions? It is insulting to even read what you have written.
I just find it hard to believe that you are the only one out there that has the good sense to follow directions therefore you have been paid.
I mean think about it, do you really believe that? Get your head out of the clouds.
Its great that you have been paid and that your getting a decent fee but why do you think that is? It's because no one else would take the job.
Time will tell the tale.

All I can relate here is my experience, and I have had ZERO problems with SOX, period.

>It is insulting to even read what you have written.

It is hard for me to believe that you have had problems with SOX IF you followed their instructions on how to get paid. There are several of us who have posted here IF you follow instructions, NO PROBLEM.

>I just find it hard to believe that you are the only one out there that has the good sense to >follow directions therefore you have been paid.

Well ...... we certainly agree there! Smile

>I mean think about it, do you really believe that? Get your head out of the clouds.

Excuse me, but I have had NO problems over 24 signings, and never been paid LESS than $65 (a simple 3 notary, 15 miute stop)

>Its great that you have been paid and that your getting a decent fee but why do you think
>that is?

Because I've one of the FEW who can follow instructions that are different than other client's instructions, or different than my personal office's procedures??????????

>It's because no one else would take the job.

GOOD, then!!! Y'all just keep telling them NO ........ I'll continue to soak up the perfectly good work ........ AND get paid.

I DO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!!!

I FOLLOWED THEM RELIGIOUSLY. I SEND MY INVOICES END OF MONTH AS REQUESTED TO THE NUMBER LISTED BELOW MY CONFIRMATION...GUESS WHAT!!!! BRANDY TOLD ME THAT WAS THE WRONG FAX NUMBER!!!!! HER EXCUSE FOR NOT PAYING ME. I HAD ALREADY SENT 3 MONTHLY INVOICES TO THAT NUMBER ON MY CONFIRMATION, IF IT IS WRONG, WHAT NUMBER DO YOU GET??? I HAVE BEEN GIVEN FAX NO (949)643-7007 ON MY CONFRIMATIONS.

The notary leaving positive feed back must be a sox employee trying to clean their reputation. I find it hard to beleive your often getting $150.00 a signing and getting paid on time, when they have a problems paying me $65.00 a closing.
