OT-Fireworks-Lake Arrowhead, CA
Spectacular Fireworks tonight on the lake, they had some that created a smile in the sky, others that looked like chandeliers. Great job this year! We had several years we didn't have fireworks and more so even after the Old Fire in these mountains. They out did themselves tonight. The "kids" old dog and new pup reacted as if nothing was going on. Watched from the deck, they do the fireworks on the lake and our home oversees the lake....After you could hear folks around the lake clapping after the great show.... I also heard on the Chicago was doing their fireworks tonight!

Oh Susan...I think of you during this time of year, each year. I truly miss my place in the San Bernardino Mtns. The Beach is nice also - I'm proud of both, but I have so many fond feelings about the Fourth in the Mtns of Crestline/Lake Arrowhead.
For what it is worth...I'll be on the coast tomorrow night...watching the fireworks off the pier and the boats. Not a trade-off, just different.

I wish I am doing the signing that I did the other week over there tonight. The borrower told me how they just sit on there deck and watch fireworks.
Their next door neighbor is not always home but had let other neighbors come over during the show. Last year, the owner came home and was asking the people to leave the deck. One person stood up and said that they have permission to be there since the owner was not home. The owner politely said "I am the owner but I need some space because I brought my family and friends." Funny how the neighbor did not know who he was.

That is funny, folks do sometimes take advantage of the part owners home. I did a signing last week and the borrower advised me to park in his neighbor's home, he is only a part timer, yet that part timer did have his property chained off and a sign for no one to park there.
So how was your drive up, I posted but you never answered? Kind of far for you isn't it? I thought you didn't take work orders this distance?
Yep you missed a great firework display last night.....they suggest even parking on the rim offers one a view of all the firework displays in the valley below. I have never done that, we get so many tourists here on the July 4th weekend, it makes the full time resident want to run and hide. My view from the deck is fab!

I wish I still appreciated fireworks the way I used to..
but with an epileptic australian shepherd that literally freaks out and has seizures she gets so upset. We also have horses and we have idiotic redneck neighbors that every year have to have fireworks aimed over the pastures so the horses completely freak out... I just HATE the 4th of July these days.

Sadly many animals are affected by fireworks, I'm sorry to hear about your neighbors and how upset your animals get. I was watching new pup closely last night to see how he handled it. Let me put it this way, I wouldn't drive to see them but since I have the view from my deck I wouldn't miss it. Now today my daughter and her hubby will be coming up, we will cook out and then they will drive about 4 miles and park on the Rim of the World, Highway 18 and watch all the fireworks from the valley floor. I won't be going.....
