I also am making some homemade barbeque. I have the pork all cooked. Can any one tell me a good sauce to mix with it. Going to serve it on buns. Having a graduation party! Come on Texans, give this Illinois person some help!

Texas Barbecue Sauce (Mr. Food Easy Tex-Mex) About 3 cups
2 cups water 2 cups ketchup ½ cup firmly packed dark brown sugar ½ a medium sized onion, chopped 2 tbl prepared yellow mustard 2 tsp. hot pepper sauce 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
In a large saucepan, combine all the ingredients and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring frequently. Reduce the heat to medium low and cook stirring frequently, for 30-40 minutes, or until the sauce is thick and glossy

The truth is that you cannot make decent marinade or bbq sauce in Tx unless the cook has been drinking and so has everyone else.
Also, the recipe should include a set of horseshoes, a bunch of men with tanned hairy necks, bad hair cuts and white legs dangling out from underneath cut-offs. If you have that much in the recipe you can forego the female contribution of bad perms, fat arms or an ax handle wide set of buttocks peeping out from underneath shorts.
However, if any of the foregoing are not available, a rusty trailer house, a big tailed dog, or a baby carrying a plastic baby bottle with Coke in it will suffice to assure TRUE Texas flavor in your sauce.
I should have mentioned all that earlier.
PS - the best bbq ribs I ever ate were the product of a man named "Clive" in North Texas. This might have been because rather than use wash cloths bought off the shelf to shower or bath with, his wife demonstrated she stocked her wash "rag" cabinet by ripping up the towels once they got a few holes in them.
There is more to grilling true "Texan" than meets the eye.

In California, a good bar-b-que also combines intoxicated cooks/guests, horseshoes, and white legs. Just not in Orange County. They do their bar-b-que take out style, so those Real Houswives of Orange County can spend more time at the aesthecticians getting waxed and airbrush tanned. Those north of Orange County with white legs rely on Clarins...or, if on a budget, Banana Boat.
I love Signing Doc's recipe. This year, I'm sticking to my famous macaroni salad. I'd rather be known to friends and loved ones for bar-b-que, but I ended up with the Macaroni Salad title. Go figure.

I have done what you have in the past...cooked a pork roast slow via oven and grill to get it smoked really well. Then drop it in a crock pot with a bottle of Krafts to make it fall apart into "chopped" bbq sandwiches. I don't think you can go wrong with chopped meat if you use a good bottle of off the shelf sause. But that's just me...the smoke from the grill will do it's part.
Potatos Slices Here's a good grill recipe that is yummy and easy...boil small potatoes like you are cooking them for potato salad. Stick them in the fridge in the jackets. When they cool, slice them into 1/2 inch slices. Pam spray 'em, add kosher salt and large grind pepper. Put them on a hot grill to heat them up and get nicely striped. Yummy.

Match up the same size onions with the potatos and alternate the slices. Add a gob of butter, salt & pepper and wrap them in foil...throw them on the grill...yowee !!

You could do it either way, but starting with a half boiled potato gets it done quicker. Gonna try that Wahoo barbeque sauce??

Since we have rice fields on the coast, rice often replaces potatos in potato salad. Make your favorite potato salad recipe and use a "bunch" of rice rather than potatos. It is quicker than and less messy than making potato salad. For recipes from a great Aggie family, check this rice farmer's website.
