Power of Attorney

Doing a signing at my office. It is a Power of Attorney, and there are two forms to be notarized. Is there a limit on how much I can charge since they are coming to me? Anything I should know or be prepared for. Thanks

Anytime they are coming to you for a simple notarization the state maximum is $10 per signature. One POA with one signature would be $10. If you were going to them you could add your "mobile" fee. If they brought an entire set of loan documents, that would also be a different story because then you are also wearing the signing agent hat.

Re: Power of Attorney--Merry is very nice.

You do not know a CA basic notary question.
You do not know your notary rules are online.

IMHO, to compensate for that:
You have called Merry a know it all.
You have said she was not Merry.
You have said her name is misspelled.

Whatever the reason for it, you did it.

I predict you will find out that a short fuse will elicit problems for you in this industry.

Re: Power of Attorney--Merry is very nice.

Honestly I was correct in what I thought just wanted a second opinion.

Who has the short fuse, think that would be "MERRY"
I asked a simple question and get a rude response, don't tell me "Merry is nice" If merry was so nice she would not have been so sarcastic.

This has been a Second business for me, TEX... do this part time. My boyfriend works for a large Mortgage Co. that is the reason I got my notary license. I have more than enough loan signings. I actually turn most of them away, because I can.

Why even bother to post here? I mean if your Boyfriend works

for a large Mortgage co. I'm sure he knows all about what notary requirements are. Is he a Loan officer? They usually know exactly how we are supposed to notarize documents. I'm sure he could have answered you question.
This way you won't have to get any rude response's on this board.

Stop being such a b*tch

Merry wasn't the slightest bit rude, she said "please see your CA handbook". YOU'RE the one who was rude, not her. And it's obvious from this post that your ego is VERY overinflated.

And the fact is, you asked a VERY basic question that any notary worth her stamp should know before even passing the notary exam. Maybe if you were a little more competent at this job you wouldn't have to be such a b*tch when your incompetence is pointed out to you.

Well it is possible.

On track generally. Despise subterfuge, yes. Have all the same annoyance buttons in regard to political correctness, yes. Have the innate desire to call a spade...a Spade. Can plough through bullshit to find the most common denominator, yeah.

(okay, if I'm over-congratulating myself, do insert comments here).

We are as different as night and day - still I just look forward to reading your shit. Big Smile

No you didn't want a second opinion you wanted advice.

Because you don't know what the hell you are doing. It's as obvious as a fire alarm. Get a grip, read your handbook and don't slam those that (might) try to help you with what you should already know.

Post like yours make me want to write the SOS about their ability to choose notaries. You're a poor excuse for what California turns out.

Re: Power of Attorney--Merry is very nice.

Merry simply told you to see your CA handbook. If you already have the correct answer (as you claim) to such a basic question; "why did you ask it?". You are now acting more like a "Discredited Notary" instead of "Accrediated". Now go away, because you can!

Merry is a super SA

she knows her rules and regs, she offers much to our table. Don't be upset with Merry because you aren't up to speed. Your notarial fees should be in your memory banks, one if not THE most basic item to know. Shame shame, you owe Merry an apology.

We do not notarize forms, we notarize signatures. If you have one form and their are 39 signatures you may charge the state maximum per signature. You ask "Anything I should know or be prepared for" Well yes you should know you state laws before doing any notarizations. Study, study, study.

Well, good question. Yet, she does have a good tan. Not much on the notary knowledge thing...but the pic is nice.

You can go a looooooooooooong way on a good pic in this world, especially in Orange County, sorry to say.

That Orange County thing is what I'm sure convinces "Accredited" that she can make a business out of what she knows nothing about.
