Printer cartridge?
I'm a new Notary and have been printing about 1500 pages a day. At that rate Im going through 1 cartridge every day and a half. Im using a Konico Minolta printer. The cartridges cost about $60. So this is really starting to add up. Has anyone else dealt with this expense problem? Any ideas of how I can get my cost down? New printer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jason L. I like this company above and I also have used www.printpal.com for over 4 years and they also ship free!
Both companies are excellent and then use www.tonerkits.com to refill as has been mentioned many times.

Hi Jason, over at Notary Gift, they ran an article about monks who make extremely cheap printer toner in Wisconsin. I think the address was http://lasermonks.com hope that helps

If your printing 1500 pages a day that amounts to approx 3-4 signings per day at $100 to $150 per signing. Mmmm great problem to have.

Re: Jason, is your K.M. a Pagepro 1350, of so, Tonerkits has
Remember, your laser cartidge has two important components. The toner, yes, but it also has a drum that also has a "life". It also has an electronic component that may also wear out.
You can refill a toner cartridge several times from a cheaper kit before the drum needs replacing, but when it DOES need replacing NOTHING will revive it, it MUST be rebuilt (or replaced).
Try to track how many times you refil a cartridge (I number mine, and track in a spreadsheet), and how many times you can do it before the drum needs to be replaced. This will save you refilling a DEAD DRUM in the end, and wasting toner. It will also tell you when to plan on getting a new cartridge to replace the drum assembly or electronics.

Jason. This is what I would suggest: Go over to Ebay and get another printer, specifically and HP 4100. I purchased one, a second tray and 2 year warranty for under $300 and the printer had less than 12,000 pages printed. Since it is rated 150,000 pages a month, it is basically brand new although a few years old. They look up ebay seller cozmic97 and purchase the toner for $31 each, free shipping, rated for 10,000 pages printed. I order a 4-6 cartridges at a time and occasionally he sends me an extra.
With the printing you do and the amount & cost of the toner you have, the 4100 will pay for itself in no time. You can use your Minolta as a backup or put it in your car if you carry a laptop.

What are you printing?
1500 pages at an average of 200 pages for 2 sets of loan docs would be seven signings a day as a new notary!

You might want to check around where you live to see if there is a company that fills up toner cartridges at a discounted rate. I came across a company locally where I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana that does this and it saved me roughly 60% vs. going to Office Depot and buying one of "their" recylced cartridges! If not, you can always contact Brian at Cartridge City - 260-436-9330 to inquire on purchasing direct from them. They do offer discounts for trading in empty toner cartridges! Best of luck to you!
