SOX

Received a call from SOX Signing Solution- (call came from NY) I have read several bad comments about them. When I check the company out I found several locations for them. I am assuming "ALL" of the locations are very slow pay or no pay? I guess I would except the signing if I was on the HUD. Any comments????

>Trust what you read

YEAH ....... remember, if you saw it on the internet it MUST be true!!!!! <BIG grin>

Seriously, much of the comments here and on other forums that have been on the internet for years are from the past experience of those who had trouble of some sort with SOX, and yet, I, and several other people who have responded to those SAME notary forums recently, have done several jobs for them, AND been paid well and ON TIME.

But you should remember that you must follow the exact instructions for that to happen to you if you work an assignment for them, not just do what you do for any other client.

I offer you this "snip" from a SOX assignment email, as it may clear up some confusion :
------------------------------------------------------------
Invoicing Instructions:
" Please invoice Sox monthly (send only one invoice for all signings completed for the entire month on the First day of the next month). Checks will be cut on the 30th of the next month i.e. October signings paid on November 30th. Do NOT use this as your invoice. Please do not enclose your invoice with the loan documents that you have signed. If you need a blank invoice, please call our Accounts payable department. Please fax monthly invoices to Accounts Payable at (949) 643-7007. Any work not billed within 90 days of completion will be void.
------------------------------------------------------------

As I follow these instructions, I have had no problem with my assignments getting paid from SOX.

Be SURE you note that end comment ..... "Any work not billed within 90 days of completion will be void."

It IS important. Decide if that is fair for your case.

If you think it is, follow the invoicing instructions exactly, and see if your first assignment is paid on time.

If not, then make up your own mind if you want to do it again.

I reccomend that you do that, rather than just take for granted that anything posted on an internet forum must be true simply because you found it posted on an internet forum.

There are many of us who do work for SOX, who does have several locations, who does do a lot of business, who does meet fees required for work done well.

All you have to do, in my experience, is follow their rules on invoicing, and do a good notary job, and you, too, can successfully work for them.

No doubt, several people will now "respond" to my post telling me how wrong I am.

To them I say this ......... I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH SOX .......... I have no idea WHAT your problem IS or was!!

So to those folks, BASH AWAY!

You affect me NOT.

NOBODY who has bashed me for my posts about SOX has YET proved to me that they have followed instructions, done a good notary job, and had any trouble, RECENTLY.

If you're still working on year's old comments posted on an internet forum as if they are still current, you need to wake up and rejoin the living.

Things change, and while I'll assume there may have been SOME legitimate problem for SA's from SOX in the past, my experience over the last 7 months tells me they ARE able to complete their duty as a SS office, and may have well made effective changes responding to all the BBB action they have encountered over the years as this SA industry evolved.

To the notary who started this thread, at least consider NOT being a blind sheep in this case.

To the "rest of you bashers" save your fingers, nothing you post in regards to my comments on this subject mean anything, to me or anyone else. It's just you ranting ........ AGAIN ........

Finally, I've received several emails in the past few days from a number of signing services regarding my posts to these threads about SOX, commending me for sticking up for them and commenting on the bashers. Your clients are reading your comments.

Make them if you wish, I reccomend you maintain some degree of professionalism. Smile

Alan I really don't care who you work with, that is your

business and your decision.

"NOBODY who has bashed me for my posts about SOX has YET proved to me that they have followed instructions, done a good notary job, and had any trouble, RECENTLY. "

What I don't understand is why you think anyone has to prove this to you?
All of the other notary's that have posted with the problems they have had in recent months are all wrong and don't know how to invoice properly?

I really find that hard to believe.

Note I'm not bashing you in anyway. I would love for you to explain how the masses can all be wrong? Can all not know how to invoice etc. Please make me see it.

Alan,
You post in every thread on here about SOX (in their defense), and you always seem to be the one doing the bashing. You say you are the only notary that knows how to correctly invoice SUCKS, I mean SOX. Now you state :
"NOBODY who has bashed me for my posts about SOX has YET proved to me that they have followed instructions, done a good notary job, and had any trouble, RECENTLY".
My question is why would anyone have to prove anything to you? How would you know if they invoice correctly or not? Are you saying notaries should be forwarding their invoices to you (how else would you receive this proof you demand)? Are you a company employee, stock holder (lol), owner?
Good notary job! Your "RECENTLY" screamed out in all caps would indicate that you are aware that there have been payment issues.

Evidence and facts I have personally observed:

(1) Many, many notaries claim to have been stiffed by Sox

(2) Notaries want to work. Notaries want to get paid. Notaries do not want to work for Sox because they do not get paid.

(3) Alan seems to have a lot of interest in the agenda that Sox pays if a notary invoices correctly.

(4) Alan does not have any other altruistic causes for benefitting notaries that I have noticed. (Nor does anyone else, necessarily--not a criticism of Alan.)

Personal Conclusion:
Alan has more than an altruistic interest in promoting the agenda that Sox will pay if the notary does everything correctly.

Disclaimer:
This is not a bash, it is not a vent, it is a conclusion based on personal observation.

BUT, apparently the ONLY person here who has been able to follow the SIMPLE innstructions on how to get paid by SOX, or cares enough to keep posting the TRUTH that all you "regular" users of this forum have decided to avoid so readily.

However, since I have this from THE RESIDENT EGOCENTRIC BLOWHARD of the forum, I'll have to assume that you might be at least half correct!!

I personally have never worked for this company, but I look at it this way. If you have ever been scammed by a company in any type of business, you will do anything in your power to let everyone else know of the unscruptulous things they do. There will be that 1 customer however that gets everything they need properly so their voice can be heard, but it still doesn't excuse the fact that they are scammers, liars, and cheaters. Again, I am talking about any business, not just this certain company. The example holds true for everything.
