Seems like a logical question
If you jog in a jogging suit, lounge in lounging pajamas, and smoke in a smoking jacket, why would anyone want to wear a windbreaker?

A guy from the land of Chili and Brisket
should not have to ask this question:-)

But, it isn't logical
See...wearing a windjacket makes the cutting edge of the wind a little less so..makes one feel more comfortable in adverse weather.
For the play on words...breaking wind is just juvenile....as in the the term "windbreaker".
And, the heading of "OT" does matter on this board. As an example, think of "size".
"Size" means alot in anything. It sets the parameters of either a discussion/argument/excuse. The definition is of course subject to interpretation and the situation..but by most - it's so obvious that it can't be avoided.
Size matters...as does the "OT" heading. Hugh...an "OT" before your posts is appreciated so that those serious about signing issues can consciously skip over the non-related stuff.

You are a notary, right?
Because you remind me of someone else on this board who doesn't seem to have a single thing to say on actual notary work. One worthless thought after another. But while you're scratching your head, you can try to figure out why you park in a driveway and drive on a parkway.

Yes he sure is...I checked.
He's also a good guy that likes to bring humor to this board. When will you two find your sense of humor? It was only a joking play on words. Lighten up. Its juvenile attitudes like this that make me not post on this board anymore because you and a few others think your all better than everyone else here. Chill out and let stuff roll. If you dont like it, dont post to it and keep on moving.

Re: thank you jahari - I'll answer to this one also
NEVER - they'll never quit behaving in that manner. It is not Hugh that is Juvenile - IT is those SEASONED NOTARIES -lol - mean, repugnant,foul-mouthed,arrogant, and yes CLUELESS on some issues !!! At least Hugh and Brenda/TX know what diplomacy is....A diplomat always knows what to talk about, but doesn't always talk about what he knows!!! IMHO ps... this very conversation has been going on for some time now,(on this board) so I'll also have to assume that they are very slowwww learners.

If it's juvenile attitudes that keep you from posting...
then at least we all know how to keep your political stuff off the board. But of course you had a comment on this, who else do you think he reminds me of with worthless posts? You, Hugh, and FlaMac, what a collection of vast knowledge and information. The lame jokester, the political bully, and the maven of misinformation.
Yes, I know it was attempted humor. Just like the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that. It's not too much to ask to post about something notary related one out of ten posts, and again have the courtesy to label it as OT. Of course, look who I'm talking to...

Re: Hugh..we luv your - Mean, mean, mean
Al can handle his own but this is bull.
What is so bad about flipping burgers?
It is honest income by people we need to do those jobs. No less than any notary on this board, including you, FlaMac.
I am so tired of this elitest notary attitude that Wal-mart workers, manual labor workers or fastfood people are somehow less than we are. Try enjoying a shopping trip or a night out on the town without them.
Pathetic and mean to indicate flipping burgers is somehow beneath you. And, no, by the Grace of God, I have never had to work in any of these places but it is not beneath me...IF I could handle the pressure and labor of it. I'd like to see all of us give it a day at MickeyD's before smarting off like this.
Snobs.

the attacks on: 1. street sweepers 2. sanitation engineers (garbage collectors) 3. meter maids (they eat their young, lol) 4. bus drivers (they get around) 5. taxi drivers (they're all foreigners) and on, and on, and on As far as I'm concerned the only distasteful job is the dishonest one.

informed, educated and experienced notaries like PAW and Becca and Sylvia, etc. Otherwise I'd have to believe they gave everyone like FLaMac a commission.

Re: Hugh..we luv your - OT story about college snobs
I was out hustling boxes for the big move for my kiddo the other day. He's packing up this weekend and his hours are longer than mine...least I could do was help him find boxes b/c he MOVED me...anyhooty...
Pulled up to a "clean" store dumpster. Young man standing on break behind restaurant next to store of dumpster I am diving. Two breakers from store staring, smoking, dressed nice, ignore me...looking a little snotty at the old gal peeping in the trash box.
Young man on break behind restaurant speaks no english but comes to my rescue behind store to get me the prize boxes I cannot reach. I said, "gracias!"
He laughed and asked me if I spoke spanish (in spanish). "Very little" back in spanish...he speaks no english. Then he asked if he could put them in my car, I said yes and started saying spanish phrases I know which have nothing to do with reality back to him.
He was so sweet, laughed at the joke and I reached in my purse and gave him a $5.00 tip ... the college boys stopped looking *down* their educated noses at the busboy kid in the hairnet and the old lady diving dumpsters. I wish to heck I'd have had a $10.
- - -
I pause to wonder if on a day in the past this were another old mama notary looking for her kid a cache of moving boxes, and if my boy were watching her from the college boy perch, what would he do?
I think I'll just call him right now and chew his b^tt out really good...just for good measure for not helping that theoretical woman....letting busboy do it all. I can't bear a dang snob.

As someone who worked in the fast food industry
(Jack in the Box 4yrs) I've often thought everyone should work in that type of business, at least for a little while. I would hope it would make people a lot less snooty and nicer to the people (yes they are PEOPLE) who serve them...

Really? I think I'll keep doing this job.
I made six figures last year with my "attitude." I'll be close this year too. So my "attitude," which includes an attitude of hard work, focus, and knowledge serves me just fine and makes me indispensable to many of my companies. So do you want to whine, complain about the "regulars" who try to share a little wisdom but not in the tone that you want, post lame jokes all day, post political commentary, or do you want to shut up and listen to a few people who might actually teach you a thing or two about how to excel at this? It doesn't matter to me. I'm getting pretty tired of trying to help the hopeless. You can all just keep complaining about how slow it is while sharing yuks and babbling on about politics, religion, and last Fridays singles dance at the local Moose club.
A sense of humor is great. A little distraction is great. It's required in this job. But if that's all you've got to offer, then you offer nothing.
