OT: Re: Sylvia How is your dog?

Thnks for asking Janlee
I hesitated posting an update earlier because of all the nastiness.
Lil Bit had her surgery and she had her follow up appointment on Saturday and the vet says she is doing well. She is not back to her "normal"self yet, but is close to it.
(Her real name is Bonnie Blue, but she is such a "Lil Bit" that that is what we usually call her)

There are no words to really thank everyone that helped make Lil Bit's surgery possible. Just "Thank you" seems so inadequate.

Hi Doc
I keep forgetting to hit the "author" button to show "Sylvia_FL" LOL
I am doing OK. I saw my surgeon yesterday to talk about the reversal of the colostomy and he said it was "high risk" for me, and it was a miracle I was even here.
He wants to see me again in January and if I decide then not to have the reversal he will be relieved. I do want it, but know I am not healthy enough yet. So another 6 months at least!Frown

Well, thank goodness for miracles!

We are very happy you're still here. I'll be keeping you in my prayers for great health so you can get the reversal. I'm also glad lil bit's doing better. Isn't it amazing how critters wrap themselves up in your heart and become so much apart of your life. Smile

Re: Well, thank goodness for miracles!

It is amazing Christi. I also have two mini-dachsies. They are rescues. I was only supposed to be fostering them, but that was 7 years ago! One is deformed, she has a club foot (supposedly a birth defect) and she is a little strangely shaped, but she is adorable (they all are!) I don't think one of them will be around much longer, she must be around 14 or 15 years old. When she last saw the vet he said "That is one senior citizen" LOL. Their names are Nutmeg and Ginger. We actually got 3 to foster, but Nutmeg and Cinnamon (the other one) had heartworms, and Cinnamon didn't make it, but her last few weeks were happy. We have taken others in in between, one standard sized dachsie, we had her about 4 years before she died (old age) and a wire haired dachsie, who also died of old age (both those two were old when we got them from the rescue group).
I had to drop out of the rescue group, as we would have ended up keeping more, and I hate it when they die, and they are not always in the best of health when they are rescues.

We have a lab/dobe mix who is 13, I can see her slowing down and some days her hips bother her, but most of the time shes doing pretty good. But I do dread the day... As I'm typing this our 10 week old kitten is sprawled ascross my arms sleeping. He's the most loving kitten I've ever seen! I have to watch myself from bring home too many animals as well Wink

Re: OT: Re: Sylvia How is your dog?

well, hope you take care of yourself "Syl"...as for me, Crohn's and kidney stones go together and YEP, I have several AND a gallstone. Going in tomorrow (Wednesday) for EWL (lipotripsy) (spelling)...hopefully it will go ok. It's usually not a problem, but I do have the bone density of an 80 year old (thanks Pednisone)...so I'll try to keep in touch. Y'all have my email if you want to send off board messages...and hey, check out my picture and see what you think?! "Doc"

Doc...she's okay with the first strike, but if you mess up again, there won't be a need for strike three.

You are forgiven. You did not know (hmmm ignorance is no excuse <g>Wink.
I do not hold grudges, especially of someone who apologizes so eloquently.
