The hipocresy of some board members.
Got a call last week for $55.00 signing including E-docs Posted by JurneiCA of CA on 7/26/06 12:28am Msg #135296 "After attempting to get clarification several times to be sure that that fee INCLUDED E-DOCS, I had no further words and just hung up the phone. I figured it was enough that I answered the phone!
I URGE ALL NOTARIES TO TURN THESE FOLKS DOWN. THEY OFFER THESE PEANUTS ONLY BECAUSE THERE ARE FOLKS THAT FIND THIS ACCEPTABLE! BUT FREQUENTLY WE ARE OUR OWN ENEMY WITH THOSE AMONG US THAT ARE DESPARATE. BREAKING EVEN WITH COST IS NOT EARNING A LIVING.
TURN THESE FOLKS FLAT DOWN.
that's my two cents."
Some people have double standard, Thats the reason I declined your signing because when I asked you that if the loan does not fund, what would I get? Trip fee? NO, print fee? NO Nothing? Yes, because you said you dont get paid neither.
Good thing I asked those questions before acepting your signing.

So, how do you know she accepted this signing for that fee? I'm curious, not insinuating anything.

too. How do you know these things Calnotary? Did you go to the courthouse and check the records? That's what I do when I want to know who signed something here in town on a certain day.

Sorry for getting you all confused girls! But no, this lady offered me a signing, so I think she is also a SS company. Did you read the message number I was reffered in my post? She says not to accept peanuts for a signing when what she offered me was less than peanuts if loan didnt fund.

Well I'm a Notary in LA and I have a signing in San Diego. Wana buy this one for $50? Well why don't you just refer this one to me LA? No Mr. Joe the most I can pay is $75. Wana buy this one for $75? How do I know you will pay me LA? Look Mr Joe do you want this or not! Why don't you refer this one to me LA? "CLICK". Hello LA, Hello LA!

There is a solution for those who want to reap what they sow
It is called networking. I have a few competitors in my area who I consider colleagues and competent. If he/she can't accept the assignment, they give the scheduler my number, and vice versa. I don't want to become a signing service, and if I DID, it wouldn't be to insult my colleagues financially. Better to give away an appt. I cannot keep, and have that NSA refer to me when they're unavailable. This is getting to be too cut-throat, IMO.

Re: There is a solution for those who want to reap what they sow
Even though I am a signing service, when companies (who I am not contracted to provide signing agents for) call me and I cannot do the signing, which of course is all the time right now, then I refer them to signing agents I know who are competent.

Yes, but you as a signing service pay whether it's a no-sign, or brw rescinds. AND immediately! As agreed! That speaks volumes to me about your integrity. And I think, based on those conditions, you pay fairly, Sylvia! I just don't think every Susie or Johhn Comelately is qualified to run their little SS.

Re: Thanks Mistarella:)
I treat my signing agents as I expect to be treated, which is if I go out and do a signing I get paid whether the borrower signs or not, or if the loan is rescinded. Signing agent did their job, so they should get paid. And as it is MY responsibility to pay the signing agent I see no reason to wait for the title company to pay me before I pay the signing agent. If they don't pay me I still have to pay, so may as well do it right away.
