Venting......

I have been the lucky reciepiant of the flakey borrowers. The latest one was supposed to sign on Friday, called, called, left multiple messages. Finally get her on the phone, sorry can't do it. Fine, no problem, when can she, she doesn't know. She'll call me this weekend and let me know. I tell her that's fine, I do have to pick up my husband at the airport Saturday at 7 but any other time is fine. She get's an attitude " I understand that this is on your schedule, but the weekend is the only time I have to take care of my stuff." I reply okay just call me and let me know. Call the SS no one answers ( what's new ) leave a message to call back, no call. The loan officer calls today, gets ahold of the borrower. I call the borrower, ask when would be a good time, she says shell call me, I replied with a specific time, no shell call me. It is almost 8pm, I called her, no answer, she hasn't called back.

What is the world coming too?

You've gotta love it.

Personally, I'd call the SS, tell them that you've tried multiple times to get a hold of her and she's not cooperating and that somebody else needs to call her to get her to call you and schedule something. No point in wasting any more of your time.

I am thinking of going to dinner, I am not going into some shady part of town after dark. Did that one on friday. My mother called me and I told her where I was going. She said oh, what's the address? If I don't hear from you by 10:30 I will have the police send a squad car. Now that makes you feel at ease.

Heck yeah go to dinner.

We're not an on-call service, people need to schedule proper appointments. And if somebody isn't willilng to do that, go about your life as normal and if and when they finally get back to you, schedule something that's convenient for you as well as for them. But never, ever just sit around and wait, hoping somebody returns your call, especially when they've proven themselves to be this much of a flake already.

Thanks I feel better. This has just been the 4th in a row of difficult people. I just wanted to scream. Not to mention the people I have to deal with at the court house. Scream from all four corners. Wednesday better not be like this. I will throw a temper tantrum. LOL Smile

We are all probably fortunate that either title/signing company/etc makes the appt for us or we would get more of this "run around."

Approx. 5% of the signings I accept have me call the borrower and set up a time for the signing. But, this just could be the companies I work for.

This was a first, normally the ones that I schedule are easy. These are the times I am available will any of those work for you? Okay great I will see you then. No problem. This one was just the icing on the cake this week.

I probably have to schedule a time with the borrower about 25% of the time. Dealing with all the stresses in this business does make me wonder sometimes if I wouldn't be better off doing something else. With the documents coming at the last minute, to the signing companies that want us to work for minimum wage or less, to borrowers that are crazy and going into homes that should be CONDEMED!!! I can't believe the way some people live, absolute pigs!!!

Frustrating, huh? Or how about the borrowers who think you're there on a social visit? They answer the ringing phone and talk to their friends while you wait and wait... or decide to "talk" to a child in the other room, or bathe baby you wait, etc. The list goes on and on.
I sometimes think the borrowers think we have nothing better to do with our time then wait for them, or wait for them to call back. Of course, they don't understand (nor does the loan officer tell them), this is our JOB, and we may have 5 or 6 scheduled in one day. Just because they are sitting at home, doesn't mean we can kick back, too.
I'm waiting (impatiently..I might add) for my borrower to call me back.. the closing is scheduled for 2 hours from now, and I haven't heard from him. GRR to some people, huh?
