Welcome to the new, improved NOTROT

Yesterday there was a spirited discussion of the issue of
a single bwr signing the top of page 1 of the 1003.
Do not know if anyone had their mind changed on the issue,
but it is good to note that the discussion was conducted on
a professional level.
All participants, of course , had to identify themselves, and could
not hide behind the infamous "annonymous"
No one questioned the sanity, intellignence or parentage of
those with whom they did not agree.
Let us all strive to maintain this high level of professionalism
and civility.
If TitleGal gets bored, she will just have to live with it.
PS. If interested , you might want to read my post # 132603
on the 1003 issue that was done late last night.
Now , if only you bozos who do not agree with me would see the
light, we could put this issue to bed (just kidding)
Have a great day, got to go to work.

The improvements are great..and long overdo..

But, don't expect the small group of unprofessional, yet regular, posters to disappear. They have no where else to go at this point..this is the only forum that allows thier type of banter. This is a chat forum..nothing more. Being a premier member of NR and having a full profile, is a huge advantage to any experienced SA and well worth the money. I receive constant quality referrals from my listing here.

In January, when many folks were busy arguing amongst themselves..I did a huge amount of marketing to TC's and Lenders. It paid offSmile So, while your criticizing and insulting each other ...I'm doing 2-4 signings per day...every day..'cept Sunday, of course, that's where I draw the line. And now I am more selective about the neighborhoods I will travel to as I had another incident where firearms were present in the living room. Orlando now has one of the highest crime rates in the country and shootings have become common place...for those of you who think we make things like that up...go get a real job..cause clearly you don't have a clue about this one...

As for the 1003..you don't need a fellow SA, experienced or otherwise, to interpret it for you. ASK the TC clerk or the Loan officer (never ask the mortgage broker). They will tell you how the lender is interpreting the new law. I have found that some of the largest lenders are doing it differently then each other. Further, how the 1003 is signed is dependent upon the community property laws for state where the property is located.

It's always amusing to read what the 'know it alls" have to say..tho, I don't have time to keep up with all the gossip these days, I do pop it every now and then. Each of you should premise your unofficial advice with "This only applies to ____" insert your state...You guys keep the newbies so confused that it's a wonder anyone ever calls them for work. Good strategy except you spend so much time here everyday that clearly nobody is calling on you either.

Now, to you regular posters that always have something nasty to say....post away...cause I'm out the door to do 3 closings today. The spelling errors are being left in place for you gals that seem to love reading them.

And to those of you that are niceSmile....hope you're all doing well...business is still booming here in Florida...thanks in part to the condo craze....

FlaMac!

FlaMac, Good Morning!

Welcome back! I haven't seen your post in quite sometime!
It's G-R-E-A-T that your business is doing fine!

I am revising my service areas as well. I had addressed these
same crime-related issues a few weeks ago on another "notary board".
This one man told me that I was "making things up"!

It's gotten so bad in many parts of Los Angeles County,
that 4 year old and 10 year old children are now being deliberately shot
(whereas before, they were usually shot by accident in the crossfire)!

That's the main reason why I do not offer 24/7 service. The shootings
plus the road rage is heightened after hours!

Anyway, Welcome Back!

Pam

Re: Flamac (Troll defined)

Beware of the Troll!

If you've spent any time in chat rooms, bulletin boards or posting on Usenet you may have already come across one of these troublesome creatures.

Often suffering from a mutant strain of compulsive posting disorder, a troll's basic mission in life is to mischievously manufacture inflammatory opinions in an attempt to stir up disharmony and discord.

The most common breed of troll seeks attention by enthusiastically posting up a stream of off-topic drivel or by being clumsily provocative (like posting up, "PCs ROOL!" on an Apple Mac discussion board.)

Ignore them. The worst thing you can do is to try and engage them in rational debate as this only encourages them to hang around.

And once they find themselves the centre of attention, they inevitably become more and more 'controversial' before building up to a crescendo of abuse, followed by a theatrical flounce.

But these are mere bagatelle compared to the Nasty Troll. Like an unruly two year old in a perpetual temper tantrum, these destructive keyboard bullies want to break everything and spoil everyone's fun.

A Nasty Troll has no redeeming features whatsoever and they'll employ every dirty-no-good trick in the book in their tedious quest to wreck an online community.

This usually includes hurling around oceans of gratuitous abuse and defamatory comments, all delivered via a range of anonymous identities - with a few forged ones thrown in for good measure.

Sharp eyed bulletin board editors can usually ban 'bad bwoy' trolls before they can cause too much trouble, but on unmoderated newsgroups the damage can be terminal, with some communities giving up in the face of relentless attacks.

But not all trolls are quite so evil. A sophisticated, well researched troll can breathe much needed life into slumbering bulletin boards, turning soporific posters into turbo-charged Ian Paisleys with just a few carefully chosen posts.

Although an audacious and cunning troll can sometimes earn the begrudging respect of its target audience, such levels of sophistication are rarer than a Swansea City goal, and for most people trolls are an irritation they could live without.

"rarer than a Swansea City goal"

Hey - Sam Ricketts did score a goal early May when they played Brentford!

Sylvia,
This was an article from Trolling on the Web, "rarer than a Swansea City goal", was part of that article. Ok so it is no longer rare, lol. I just thought FlaMac should understand what defines a troll, since she just seemed to want to stir the pot with her remarks about regular posters.

I agreed with your post, Bob. Although there was "spirited" debate about the 1003, it is a much more professional environment now.
