brother MFC-8840D

I just bought and set up a brother MFC-8840D all-in one, and i am trying out printing a fax containing two sizes of paper letter and legal. It is my understanding that the machine will printer two sizes of paper in one fax. When i try it, it prints both pages in letter size. anyone have experience with this machine and could give me tips on how to set it up to do this, or should it do it automatically?

Thanks in advance for your help

Your 2nd tray should of had direction on how to set it up. I just bought the 8870DW, but I have the 8440 and it works great.

If you want me to fax it to you, give me your fax number.

Dave,
First check to see if your second tray has indeed been installed. From the windows start menu click printers and faxes. Double click on your bother printer, click on properties, then accesories or device settings. Look and make sure your second tray is listed.
You should see tray 1 MP tray and tray 2.
If it is listed the next thing to check would be to make sure then you select choose paper source by pdf size. (on the print options page) just check the box.

If this doesn't work leave me your number and we'll see if we can work through it over the phone.

Once you have it up and running I'm confident you will be very happy with it... Very good machine with a lot of bang for your buck.

On second thought don't leave your phone number on the board. Leave your email and make sure to separate/space the email address out and type at instead of using @ this way your email addy won't get spoofed as easily by the spammers. ex. spiders at aol dot com instead of [e-mail address] I HATE SPAM

My Suggestion

Use your Brother for outgoing faxes and get Maxemail Lite for $14.85/year. Your faxes will be sent to you in a fast printing pdf in mixed sizes. Plus, since your faxes are emailed, you can pick them up wherever you have internet service.
