mobile notary fees

If a signing service company agreed to a certain fee for me to do a signing, but then the signing was not done because the borrower did not agree with the terms of the loan, do I submit a different receipt with the loan docs when sent to the lender when I go out to do another signing for this same borrower again?

If you went to the signing and then the terms of the signing were renegotiated between the borrower and the LO I have always been paid full fee for the 1st appt along with full fee for the 2nd. If you did not leave your home, then you need to "negotiate" with the whomever hired you a "print" fee for the 1st set of papers to be submitted with your invoice for the signing that does/did occur. You want to negotiate that "print fee" before you send in your invoice.

If a signing service hired you are you certain you want to send the receipt (?) to the lender?.

First, let's be clear that what you are going to send is not a receipt but an invoice.

Second, is your invoice really supposed to go to the lender?! (Probably not.)

If your confirmation does not say otherwise, you should be paid your full fee for the adjourned (first) signing. The second (completed?) signing would be another full fee.

Please note that some signing services refuse to pay the full fee for a signing that was not completed. Caveat lector.

This situation happened to me this week. Printed docs and drove 26 miles to appt. Docs were drawn incorrectly - borrower noticed it before anything was signed. Spent half an hour at the borrower's home while they made phone calls. SS said they would only pay me $50 because that's all they will get from the Title Co, and they "give it all to the Notary". Tried explaining that my print fee alone is $25, but she wouldn't budge. I suggested to her that the $50 no-sign policy should be written on the confirmation so the NSA is aware ahead of time.
