Alabama Closings: Please advise

Mixed reviews here on not rot.
Called and met my fee, but still no confirmatin 30 mins later.
Are they cheap notary shoppers?
Should I erase my "penciled in" appt. for tonight?

They called me a couple of weeks ago to meet a customer at a Waffle House at 5 pm on Friday afternoon during Birmingham rush hour traffic and offered $50.00. I declined and the young man acted offended. Probably won't answer if they call again.

Re: Alabama Closings/Bad Experience

My experience with Alabama Closings was not good. 3 hour drive, downloaded and printed 200 pages, 1 hour at borrowers, borrower chose not to sign - they sent me $50. Never again!

Re: Alabama Closings

sorry for your bad experience.
Well, they met my fee, which is way above the one you received.
I finally received the confirmation, confirmed with the brw, and the appt. is at a local restaurant.
I may end up kicking myself in the rear for accepting another SS appt., but I accepted
the appt. and I am one of those idiots who thinks she should keep her word when accepting an assignment.
Thanks for sharing your experiences, and say a little prayer for me.
AL isn't too far away, I guess I can drive to pick up my check if I HAVE to!

Fell through at the table. I guess I get to look forward to

my big $50 print/travel fee.

Pam

I am curious about the lender/LO when yours fell through.
If you are comfortable in doing so, and remember who it was,
please shoot me an email.
I have had the experience of getting a full fee when I have
brought it to the attn of the SS that a particular L/O is famous
for no-signs. I just wonder, as certain SS seem to work with
the same L/O's and TC's if it's the same guy.
Because of all the nonsense going on around here, I certainly
understand if you don't want to, and no hard feelings.

I did a signing for them once, they sent me a confirmation that said if the loan did not fund for any reason I would not be paid, I called them back and told them I wont do the signing on those terms and I would except the full fee if I conduct the signing appt. They agreed and sent me a new cofirmation. I think I received payment in very reasonable length of time but cant really remember.
