Backup Stamp???

Just wondering how many of you have a backup stamp? I'm thinking it would be nice to have one, preferably a pocket one. Wondering if it's worth the hassle of writing to the SofS to get an authorization. Thanks!

As an NSA who was out of "commission" fow a couple of weeks when my stamp broke, I now always have a backup. A stamp manufactured is allowed to produce two stamps per authorization, so I always order two when renewing.

I've actually have 2 extra stamps. All three are of different sizes but I won't be caught without a stamp.

I most certainly do! In fact when I get my new commission this October, I am going to get 3! 2 regular and 1 small pocket sized one. I too had one break once during a signing . . I had to work with it until I got a new one. This was during the refi boom! Boy was that a headache!

I have 3 stamps, one that travels with me to closings. A pocket stamp that remains in my purse at all times, and my favorite stamp that remains in my home office (or at the law office when I'm working for an attorney).

I only have one but I now think it would be a good idea to have a backup.

Let me reccomend this one (BUY IT HERE)

I hate Pocket stamps but this one is perfect as a backup. Don't let it's slim profile fool you, it gives a full size impression so you don't have to worry about rejections. I purchased this one and I am completely satisfied. I wouldn't rely on it as my (main) stamp because the flip mechanism will eventually malfunction but as a backup it is exactly what you need.

Tennessee requires a circular stamp. . .

. . .pocket stamp only comes in rectangular. When you enter the NotRot store for your state, only products allowed in your state are shown.

I have a back up stamp that I always keep in my purse. My regular stamp is in my desk at work, locked at night. My journal is always in my car in my notary tote bag. May sound convoluted but it works for me - the journal can be reached if the signing is at work and if I'm on the road, I have my stamp.
