Be Nice

A few threads ago people we rude to Mike and a prior to that someone was complaining about the people who anonymously post. Well if people are respectful then it would be easier to ask questions. Please be respectful to us newbies and all people.

I agree that people should be nice, Vicki, but it is not a requirement. This is a fact of life outside of this forum. It's naive to believe you can keep people from being rude without a forum moderator constantly watching a forum. People in families are rude, borrowers are rude, LOs are rude, TCs are rude and SSs are rude. Just use this forum as a way to practice deflecting the rudeness. Get a "teflon" finish on your feelings - let it slide right off.

The first thing that new NSAs need to learn about business is that business is not always nice. Secondly, if you post on a forum where anyone can post and it is only lightly moderated you need to be tough enough to stand the fall out or stay off of the board. Besides, every question in the world has been asked and answered. One only need to use the search button to verify this.

One more thing, the anon who received rude replies has been rude to others as well. It does not make it right for any person to be rude.

Rudeness goes on, it exists and your post will just generate more rudeness.

If you cannot stand sand in your britches then stay out of the sandbox and keep yourself on the nicer grassy areas. We all get sand in our britches from time to time...just shake it off, take a shower and don't be too sensitive.

You are aboslutely right and I have learned alot from reading these boards. Thank you for all the info. I have been in business for many years and toughed out many situations successfully. I am able to deflect more than most. It was not my feelings I was refering to. I find kindness is much more pruductive. Rudeness is a waste of time. People do need to vent and grip about stuff. That's not what I am talking about.

Vicki - the boards and this job has tempered my personality in large ways. It's a very personal people business we do. Having temperance is paramount.

I once talked to a young man whose parents were furniture store people He immediately understood that I was "into" people and enjoyed them because he too had been in homes with furniture delivery.

He said you have to "care" about a woman who wants you to re-arrange her furniture repeatedly when you feel pressured to get your next delivery done. However, that woman is totally focused on her little nest...you have to be understanding.

I see how that applies to us!

Ok Ok Ok I get it

I have spent the last hour or 2 reading thread 33325 and a few others. You are all right Mike needs to use the search button. There is an incredible amount of info if we use the search button. DUH! I am amazed the WA allows NSA's to conduct signings without training. We are not even required to keep a journal in this state. I am glad to have this board and all you bashers to entertain me.

Vicki I was just in Oregon, I was tempted to drive up to WA, the coast in your area is so pretty. Are you close to the coast or more inland.....
And yes the board can be so entertaining.....really. I often come here for that alone but I do learn some great things.....Also human nature is so interesting....

Re: Ok Ok Ok I get it-Great you see the light......

I live just south of Seattle in the burbs. I have spent the last 5 summers vacationing on the Oregon and Washington coast. We love the coast. Oregon coast is more scenic. We have looked at buying a vacation home in Long Beach WA. It is amazing. Maybe some day we will retire there. That is along time away : ) I think?

Well on our trip to Oregon, my hubby a surfer in his younger years, said lets buy a second home here now and then when we retire I can surf again....We aren't that far from retirement and we found property in Oregon to be more affordable and yes by the beach. We rented this terrific beach house, found it on line, on a huge lot, even bigger fenced yard, pet friendly we tooks old pooch and new pooch, had a blast, send your e-mail address to my link I'd be happy to send you a photo of the darling beach house....too cute and I would highly recommend staying there.

Vicki,
I read the entire thread, and I don't see how you can say anyone was being rude. In every response the posters were giving good advice. If you are going to be self-employed in this business or any other business, then the key factor of everything is "YOU". "YOU" research, "YOU" study, "YOU" build your own business. Remember the old song "High Hopes" about the ant and the rubber treet plant.
