Certify copy of death certificate

I've been asked to certify copies of a death certificate. Has anyone else done this? Thanks.

You cannot do it! A Death Certificate is a vital record.
The person needs to get a certified copy from the court house (whoever has the official records)

That's what I thought, but wanted confirmation. Thanks for your reply.

In Texas you can cert. some docs, but cannot do this because the death cert. is a recordable document. It's stated in our notary rules. Have you checked yours?

Some states cannot certify any type of document.
