Closing documents
Hello to all! I am starting to receive assignments..YEAH however is it normal that you do not get the closing documents until the last minute? If so, how are you supposed to juggle all of your other closings that day too? You can't be in two places at once.

A few of us have gone completely mobile. Alot of us who aren't carry around a laser printer and laptop and print the updated docs at the brw's. It is tough to juggle appts. when at least one client is running behind. For awhile I carried a laser MF machine I could plug into the brw's phone line so TC could fax the remaining docs last minute.

Sorry..What do you mean by "completely mobile"? Are you saying your car is a rolling office with everything?

Yes, Steph. I have a power inverter hooked up to a separate battery (many others have theirs hooked up directly to vehicle battery), a laptop with WI-FI (Verizon, about $60/month) a laser printer and an HP MF machine for scanning and copying (for fax-backs and DL copies) It makes it easier to get 1/2 the docs printed at the office, and while waiting for that final HUD and/or junk docs, I'm on my way to the closing location.

Re: "...rolling office with everything?" Exactly
I believe I listed all needed above, but if you're just starting out, and don't want to invest or can't afford to invest, my best advice would be the MF Machine (laser of course). That was my first and best piece of equipment, as all my brw's had phone lines. Any changes could be faxed to their home. Just my opinion.

I'd choose one that has both sheet fed and flatbed
so that I could scan multiple pages AND have the option of copyng DL's. The one I own is NOT HP, it is a Brother, older model, not sure which one.

I agree. I miss my flatbed scanner with the sheet feed that was on my inkjet. Alas...it had to move out.
