HP 1320tn additional memory
I apologize in advance for the techy ignorance. I just purchased a 128mb for my printer from 4allmemory.com. I've used the search button to look for my answer but there's nothing on the subject of HP memory installation. Does anyone know how to install this? Does this actually go inside my computer? I have 512mb in my computer... so I'm not sure how this 128 mb will help the speed of the printer. Paw, can you help shed some light on this for me? Thanks everyone!

Thanks! I guess I could've done that myself by going on the HP website! What a dingy!! ANyway, thank you so much! I did install it. Unfortunately it didn't make a difference, my pdf files are still printing SUPER duper slow! Thanks again and have a great evening!

Sometimes that will happen if the docs have been scanned in a image format. You might want to try to change your printer settings to "print as image" to see if that helps. Drives me crazy when they do that! Good luck.

That problem probably lies in your computer
You probably do not have enough "Ram" inside your machine. Memory is cheap so you might want to look into adding 512mb to 1 gigabyte of ram, if you plan on keeping your machine for awhile

Re: That problem probably lies in your computer
You really don't need 1Gb of memory unless you have lots of applications running simultaneously, or use a lot of graphics. Printing PDF image files uses more processing power (CPU time) and virtual memory (disk paging and printer spooling) than physical memory. But, it won't hurt to increase your PC's RAM.

Check to see if there is a (slide out) panel from either side of the printer.

Thanks all, now I just need to figure out how to...
install a pcl5 driver. I've downloaded it from HP, but I can't get it to come up as one of my drivers. I've also downloaded the 995 driver (or something like that) and that downloaded my pdf files super quick but the printer kept giving me error pages even after I changed the language to 2. I'm not sure if you all know what I'm talking about... I'm confused myself. Thanks guys!

You need to install using the installation CD.
All the drivers and configuration tools are on the installation CD that came with the printer. Because the printer uses virtual printer ports, unless you know how to manually configure a virtual port, you need the installation tool (CD) to do it for you.
The "995" driver allows you to "print" the a PDF generator. In other words, it allows you to create a PDF file from another application, simply by "printing" to it.

Re: You need to install using the installation CD.
I have the installation cd in. I'm under device settings, then PCL, then how do I configure the PCL settings? It's asking for font number, font pitch, font point size, symbol set, append cr to LF, and form length??? Thanks PAW!

Re: Thanks all, now I just need to figure out how to...
If you have HP pcl6 driver installed, you must goto the printer property (under advance setting) and manually select the amount of RAM installed on the printer. I think the same setting applied to pcl5e driver.
