Help with dates on the doc
The Docs have yesterdays date. I know notarizations dates must have todays date. Do all the dates (docs and notarization dates) have to be same? Do I have to change the docs date?
How about if the docs are dated for tomorrow? I am in CA. TIA.

Call the title company to be sure, if you can't get a hold of anyone call who hired you. Now having done all that with no help I would have everyone sign with today's date. Of course you will always notarize with the date you are actually signing.

If the docs have yesterday date, borrower can sign with today date, if the docs are dated for tomorrow call Title Company or Signing Service first. I did 2 signing where the docs were date for the next day and the lender redraw them because were not good.

You can NEVER back date, and you have to always sign the date of the signing. Don't let them tell you otherwise.

Anon, the notary is never responsible for the contents of documents including the dates.
If you do a search, you'll find alot of information on the dated date on the document vs. the day you sign. Check thread 33325.

But you ARE responsible ...
... for the dates in your notarial blocks (notarial certificates)! Never pre- or post-date your notarizations. Ever.
