Here's a new ID glitch (maybe)

Mrs Borrower's calif DL has her maiden name, no prob, she has a passport with married name. The weird part, she told me, she used to have her married name on her license. When she got it renewed last year, they made her change her name on her license to match her ss card(maiden) name. Huh??? She is a canadian citizen. Could that be why? Has anyone else run across this? I could see this causing all sorts of problems..

If Mrs. B has positively identified herself with DL & PP, what other problems could there be? Don't make assumptions and take it upon yourself (from TitleGirlCA couple thread down) to make the job harder than it is.

This signing was fine. Mrs B had a passport so all went well. What I was wondering is if this is something new the dmv is doing? Mr and Mrs have been married over 20 years and just last year did this. IF mrs B had NOT had a passport it would have been a problem. If the next Mrs B does Not have a passport it will be a problem. Thats the problem I see coming. I'm just wondering whats going on with this. Does anyone know anything about it...Tia

Yes Christi I have seen that down here in Fla...some of the MRS. though keep their maiden name on their DL cuz they keep their maiden name as a professional name if they are in some type of business. While others were just to lazy to make the changes (hey, their words, not mine)...lol....dee
