How is Business?

I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and signings have been trickling in slow. I average about 2-3 signings a week, thanks mostly to notaryrotary. Is that the norm or is it just this area?

Are you new?

I'm in Southern Cal. I'm working p/t doing signings. Have been doing this for not quite a year and a half. I averaged 8.75 signings per week for this month. That doesn't count the business I referred to other local notaries who are able to complete daytime appointments.

Re: Are you new?

I guess you could consider me new. I've been a member for almost a year but haven't posted any messages. Wow.. 8 in one week. I would be ecstatic if I could do that many in a week. I'm available day and night and can't get that many!!

How many companies are you signed up with?

Experiences NSAs say it may take more than 100 until they get to know you and ask for you again and again.

Re: How many companies are you signed up with?

I'm registered with about 60 companies. The same 10-12 keep calling me for signings and the rest I haven't heard from at all. I had a few call me after 6:00pm to do an "emergency" signing for that same evening but only wanted to pay $60.00... sorry, not enough.

Go to NR's "signing central"

I believe you will get better results if you signed up with a minimum of 200.
That may take awhile, I know, but do 10 a day, and watch your number of requests
increase by leaps and bounds.
Good luck!

Re: Go to NR's "signing central"

Thanks for the tip. I was registering a few a day and kind of got away from it. I so want to do this full time and give up some of the other business support services that I provide. I guess I need to get back in gear and start registering with more companies. Thanks again!

8 a week is nothing...

Compared to what active full-time signing agents are doing. If I weren't such a scardy-cat I would quit my day job and just do this. I know that I would make more than my secretarial job provides for me now (it's already doing that). But I LOVE MY BENEFITS and don't want to give them up. Hubby works for Home Depot and we could get benefits thru his employer, but mine are basically free ($10.81/month premium and a $10 co-pay for visits) for the whole fam-dam-ily and with 3 BOYS my husband and I have lost count of the medical and dental trips we've taken with the kids.

I hear you Maggiemae

I got on my husband's insurance, got a part time job and now make about what I would at a full time job but have more time with my kids. Best of all, I know I am getting a certain amount every two weeks. In regards to closings, it is up to me how much or how little I want to make a month.
