I am MADDER THAN A WET HEN
I received three calls from a SS that is well know for its inability to pay timely, and in some cases, not at all. The company has been recently defended on this board as having "changed, again", and their name ryhmes with locks. Every call was answered politely but sternly that I had NO interest in working with them, EVER. I may have added the caveat, when pigs fly.
Late in the afternoon I recieved a call from a pleasant young gal who claimed to be from a company called Docs to U. Having heard the name before and not recalling any negative posts I negotiated a fee and my wife, God Bless her little Ole Pea Picking Heart started printing the docs while I was in transit.
I contact the borrower and confirm a time when I can get there. Upon arriving at home, much to my horror there is no PO for Docs to U, but instead one from the sounds like locks company. I was mad enough to chew nails. Searched the PO and found the number for the National Operations Manager. I unloaded on her, only to find out, that she was no longer with the company because of "differences." She did forward my number to her replacement and she did call me asap and I quickly unloaded on her on how their scheduler misrepresented their idenity to try and obligate me to the signing. I also reiterated their MISERABLE reputation the past five years in regard to slow and non payment. She acknowledged the past and present problems, but once again that has all "changed, again." She asked if I would consider doing the signing directly for the lender and asked if I would give her the LO's phone number. I agreed as the borrower had already been in contact with the LO and had advised him of the problem.
This NOM proceeds to call the LO and tells him that I am refusing to sign the loan because I have issues with the lender??????!!!!! As mad as I was, am, I did not call her back and let her know that I was privy to what she had said, just made a deal with the LO to get the job done for the borrower. They were the victims in this and even if I end up not seeing a dime of the fee, I am glad the borrower got taken care of.
This company acted exactly as their MO has been in the past. Regardless of how some people are cliaming that they are being paid on time, or that by the hand of God they have changed, they continue to revert back to old ways. When dealing with suspect companies like this it is not important to take notice of what they do in the spotlight, but rather how they act in the shadow. Yesterdays episode reinforces that a leopard does NOT chages it's spots. This comapny continues to earn it's reputation. Thanks for letting me Vent, as the dog had surgery yesterday and of yet cannot be kiicked:-( Kidding of course..........

I had something similar happen a week ago, got a request from SOX and turned it down, later in the day accepted a call from a loan officer and when I received the confirmation and borrower information it was on a SOX form, I called loan rep and told him that if I was to do the signing I had to be paid through escrow and would not never rely on this SS for payment. They sent a new confirmation and I am hoping that settled things.

WOW!! I would be mad, too. Thanks for venting. I would definitely add the number that called you to your "no no" list or (like I do) add that number to your list of numbers for a particular vendor. Next time, it would show up as "locks". I also add fax back to the name, if that applies or no edocs, whatever quick notes that will help me when the call comes in.

In my defense
All the calls came from different numbers, area codes and even private blocked numbers. If you are going to be deceptive, it is important to have the tools of the trade I guess:-)

Re: And now they have something called a spoof card...
that apparently makes it look like someone else is calling from a completely different number. I don't know much about it yet, just heard a quick blurb about it on the news yesterday.

That's only 17 cents a minute
I that there are "other women" who change their voices to that of a man using the spoofcard, and call their boyfriends at home!

No wonder,
a couple of weeks ago I posted that I was confused that I was receiving calls form an out of the area SS. The first call came from their area code ( I am assuming ) the second from my area code. I have had this happen 2-3 times.

Re: Spoof Cards...Ya know, with all the effort it takes..
to be deceptive and cheat people....isn't it still easier to just take the narrow road and pay for services rendered...on time? Or is my moral compass completely off in today's society? It seems to me all that effort could be put to postive use instead. Jeez! What next! Pretty soon we will have to demand payment up front through Pay Pal or something!

Actually it's easier to get a phone card from any store.
They work on an 800 # that then searches the nearest/cheapest area code router to send your call through. The reason I know this is; that I don't pay for long distance @ my home and my brother is always wondering where I am calling him from.

Re: Dog this give me such a laugh, great writing
in telling your tale, however sorry for your pain....... I did a signing early this a.m. for this great title company I love working for, instructions are clearly detailed, borrowers always get the picture 100% and the best part of all they pay in less then 2 weeks. I'm somewhat tired of some of the ss and I'm going to attempt a deal with this title co, in working just for them. They currently only call me for the mountains and most are reverse mortgages. I adore this lady I deal with, very blunt always to he point, no bs ever, it's what do you charge and her response is always I don't have a probelm with that.....
