John... End to the Homestead Thing...

Here was the conversation with the Title Company on Monday.

A: The borrower needs some more info on the Abandonment of Homestead included in the package.... etc.

TC: Abandonment of what?

A: Abandonment of Homestead, it was included in the package for XXX borrower and they wanted some additional information and the reason that it needs to be included. They say that it is their primary and only residence.

TC: Abandonment of Homestead?

A: Yes

TC: Hold on let me go ask somebody else....

HOLD MUSIC PLAYINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

TC: You said it was an Abandonment of Homestead?

A: Yes

TC: We don't know what that is... just ask the borrower to sign it.

A: The borrower didn't want to sign it... they wanted an explanation.

TC: Hold on......

HOLD MUSIC PLAYINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

TC: Abandonment of Homestead?

A: Yes

TC: OK... well we don't know what it is so if they didn't want to sign it, just take it out and shred it.

A: OK.... (Can you imagine the look on my face???)

Smile Smile ....Makes you want to work in Arizona doesn't it?

Wait until they try to record the mortgage or DOT. Bet they'll figure it out real quick!
