Jurat question

After reviewing my faxbacks the SS asked if I would attach a loose jurat since part of the border of my stamp was slightly over the wording -- my question is do I cross out the original jurat? This is the first time I've had to attach a loose jurat for this reason. And I'm not a newbie either.

how are you required to handle a correction?

Read your manual. you could read all sorts of advice on this site, but it is not necessarily the correct information. Your best bet is to consult your State laws.
