LSI

I rec'd a call for a signing the other day from LSI and was told documents were going to the borrower. When I rec'd the order it said documents were going to me...then it said documents were going to the borrower....then it said for the notary to call to see where the documents were going.

I called LSI and they said they had no way of knowing where the documents were going that I would have to wait until the day of the signing to see. They said that this is just how the lender, Washington Mutual, does it. I told them I have done many signings for Washington Mutual and they never do this.

Well...I was then told not to worrry about the signing at all...that it was going to be re-assigned since I could not accept the fact of not knowing where the documents were being delivered.

What the heck???

Sounds like the SS person was dysfunctional.....I agree, Washington Mutual has never done business that way!

You deserved getting the boot!! I work with LSI all the time, and they are wonderful. You should have waited, and not made a big deal of it. Just let things work it self out and don't worry so much. You gave up a good account that pays very quickly, and they don't make you do fax backs. If the docs never got there, you would have been paid, because they are that good. Trust me on this... You f-ed up.... I just had to say something.... Do you stress all your accounts out like that? BTY... the doc's have always showed up, either to me or the B.

Happy Notary Girl in Cali...

Actually whether there are fax backs or not depends on the lender that LSI is working with. WaMu docs to go to the borrower 99% of the time. The best thing to do is contact the borrower the day before closing and ask if they have the docs yet, and if not to have them call you/vice versa on the day of closing to see if they got the docs. WAMU has started a new program where LSI is the title company and the SS, but WAMU does their own HUDs, etc. LSI has many different closing/scheduling teams that work with different lenders in different ways. While some teams are great, others don't bother to call you back and tell you a closing has cancelled.

Re: LSI-Lisa I do many myself and I think you are so right

All mine used to come to me until about 2 months ago. The ones that don't are the WAMU VA/FHA loans that go straight to the borrower, no fax backs, and you overnight them directly back to the lender. There is another lender too, can't remember which one, but I've only done 3 of them in the last few months that go straight to the borrower...oh...it is ING. I used to do tons of Chase for them, those were split packages, lots of faxbacks, all edocs. There Chase team got a new scheduler that I think was lazy and started hiring SS's (which gave me the same work and the same fee) but they seemed to have lost most of their Chase business. I don't think the SS situation was working out for them. There was one very good SS, and the other 2 were just horrible.

I rarely work for LSI West, they only meet my fee when they can't find another notary.

LSI can be hit or miss (Santa Ana)

They have a scheduler there that is by far the rudest person I've ever dealt with. Sounds like you might have talked to Mr. Wonderful. On the other hand, they have some of the nicest schedulers as well. Judy is the best, and most of the others are great as well. I had been seriously thinking about asking them to remove me from their call list. They weren't meeting my fee (they were the lowest paying company I had but I stuck with them because they were one of the first to give me business) and their signings were always a long distance (I guess they had enough coverage in my local area). I got the pleasure of talking to Mr. Wonderful and by the end of the conversation I was so furious, I decided I was done with them. I'm fuming right now just thinking about it! No loss for me, though. Long drive and low pay aren't a winning combo.
