LuLu's earlier post on profiles thru Google search

Wowwwsers! I finally figured out how to do this and I must say I was astonished. I certainly learned what NOT to do with my own profile. I wouldn't hire a notary that couldn't spell, I wouldn't hire a notary that used all CAPS throughout the entire profile. I'm sure I wouldn't hire a notary that explained all their experience and then at the bottom read that notary's latest post saying "help, I'm brand new and I don't know if I should take this assignment", that one is a dead fish. I don't think I would hire a notary with 30 years experience as a banker, don't know why but that doesn't sit well with me either. I hate to admit it but Joan probably is correct about a picture saying 1,000 words. I found myself gravitating to the pics, I don't think I would hire a notary with a glamour shot. I did find the professional pictures seemed to lend more credibility but for the life of me I don't know why. All I can say is this is a bounty of information on all the things NOT to do. I'm going to work on my own, whew!

You are so right. I too did a search & found it interesting that they only show negative comments made by someone and totally exclude the good comments Smile

Wowwwser is right!

Did what you did and pulled up NOT my posts, but a post of my WHOLE FREAKIN' resume letter that I have NEVER posted anywhere--it only goes as a cover letter with the docs you have to fax to sign up with an SS. It's about 4, 5 years old & now inaccurate. But someone posted it to a notary forum that I do not even look at, much less post there as a good example of a resume letter and said he was going to 'borrow' as much as he could! Now this is scary! And a new reason of the many I already have for not linking to my profile.

Della, Just

go to your "search engine" of choice...our's being Comcast...others Google. Type in "find a notary in_________ (put in your state). When the search "list" comes up. Click on the one that is Notary Rotary's website (in Washington, Not Rot comes up first on the list). When you do that, a list pops up that lists out may cities within your state. Click on your city. You should be able to see many profiles of people in your area, and many times their posts here on Not Rot board.
Good luck
Mindy
