OT Check your deposit slips...
Okay, everyone does besides me.
I was so proud of a big check as a result of being able to offer Helocs on Saturdays and after hours that I did a little happy dance outside of the mailbox. Then, I pranced right down and deposited it at my credit union where it promptly went into someone else's account.
I did not look at the "account" it went into and the balance was similar to mine so I thought nothing of it.
Checked my account yesterday morning and noticed it was not there.
They got it straightened out immediately, but it happens.

Goodmorning Bren,
I have done the same thing, only I deposited into my other account and had checks bouncing. Argh! Good thing I have over draft protection. Love the happy dance at the mailbox. I have done that many times recently. More checks, less bills.

That is why I am no longer a BofA customer. In 2001 I got a workers comp settlement that I had been waiting for since 1992. (Yep, 9 years). I used a deposit slip from my checkbook, because the check was large, they requested my ss#. The teller then deposited the check into an account that matched my ss#. Took them 5 days to fix their mistake. About 1 month later, I was at Disneyworld with my daughter, she wanted some crazy expensive costume that I would not buy her. Well she (was 8 at the time) calls grandpa, who goes to the bank to deposit $300 into my account so I will buy my daughter crazy expensive things. Money never showed up, (got the stuff for my daughter anyway) and when I got home I looked at the deposit slip. The teller had reversed the account numbers, put the last 5 numbers first, and the first 5 numbers last. This one took 3 weeks to straighten out. I left BofA right after that.

Speaking of checks at the mailbox...
I had a healthy April and May judging from the closings listed on my calendar.
But I am not getting ANY checks in the mail. Seems strange that every TC I work with is late. All the closings were for reliable companies I've worked for again and again but no $$ is arriving. I have not been doing any dancing at the mailbox. Just the opposite...I walk to the mailbox with a quick gait and a look of anticipation, and saunter slowly away with a dejected look on my face.
Hope today will be different since I NEED some money for the weekend!

Hi there MKIA,
Long time no coreespond with. I have officially become a foster parent of two young boys - infants, and they are so wonderful, but take up most of my socail life now. I'm still teaching TKD and playing in the Orchestra, but unable to correspond and with friends as much as I used to...
anyway, when I deposite a chck in my bank, I always look at the reciept they give back and make sure I read my account number...yes, I have it memorized. So far I have been lucky with my credit union and they have done a great job. I was a member of BofA like someone else here, but that was years andand I would never want to go back.
Glad you got things strightened out. Have a great day!!!
