OT-Nasty weather here in SW FL

Both my appts. for today have rescheduled due to the weather.
Is anyone else experiencing bad weather reschedules?
I recall back in 2004 (the year FL had 4 major hurricanes) that
I was the one declining assignments: they were calling to schedule
in the area where Charley hit for the day it struck, LOL.

I got a call the day after Frances went through my area last year! It was so bad here that it was a real risk even trying to drive since no one seemed to have a clue how to handle all the 4 way stops. I asked the scheduler if she even had a clue if the house had been hit by the hurricane. Her response was "What hurricane?" @@

I also was offered $500 after Wilma to go to Fort Lauderdale for a signing. It seems that no one from me south had any power so they could not print docs. That company paid me up front too.

It's started!

Alberto is expected to be a hurricane within 24 hours.
They have already issued a Hurricane Warning for the Gulf coast.
We should get tropical storm here in Brevard county.

Yes Ma'am

We already have the tropical storm, just heard it's 4 MPH from Hurricane force winds (Cat 1)
Fortunately, I am out of the "loop".
The warinings are for Longboat key north-
I am about 30 miles south of Longboat Key.

We're right in the middle of it ...

So far, no strong winds, but lots and lots of rain. According to our gage, just over 4" since 6 AM. At least it is raining so hard that there's a lot of runoff. The ground is soaking it up pretty good. Maybe now I'll have to mow the lawn (on Wednesday).

CORRECTION: We're right in the middle of it ...

The third sentence should read:

At least it is NOT raining so hard that there's a lot of runoff.

We are having lots of rain here. (I don't have a gauge though!). Satellite TV has gone out a couple of times and we are under a tornado watch.

Re: OT-Nasty weather here in Central FL

We're getting some nasty little squalls up here in Deltona. Windy and branches coming off of trees already. I could barely see when I was driving home on I-4 from Altamonte Springs today either....

You all be careful up there! I'm supposed to close on my new house on Thursday and I'm hoping that Alberto just goes away.
