Printers
I need advice!!!! I have a HP laser 1300, now 3 years old. What should I get?. I only do about 3 to maybe 5 signings a week. I am a teacher for 10 months. The warranty ran out last March.

I use a Samsung ML2250. It prints at 20 pages/minute and the cost per page is 1 cent per page. It is a bit loud, but I have run close to15,000 pages through it and it runs like a champ. It is not a duplex machine, but it does have PCL6 which seems to be the language of choice for edocs. Good luck.

I also have the Samsung ML2250, it is PCL6 compliant. They are very inexpensive, I paid $229 with a $50 rebate which brought the cost down to $179 (that was over a year ago). The drawback being it only has a single tray, but I print everything on legal size paper.

My advice is to pay for quality. Look for how much RAM comes with the printer and has PCL 6 and PostScript drivers for better translation of PDF files. Also look for good page per minute ratios as well. Spend the money now, and make it back later. Guaranteed to pay for itself in no time. I recommend an HP LaserJet 3015, 3020, or a Xerox Workcenter. If you can find a reseller for Xerox, I'd try them. They may have a refurbed printer they pulled out of an office. Good luck.

I got both my printers off of Ebay. Dell 1700. Purchased the second drawer off of Ebay also. Have about 150 in each printer with second drawer. Added some memory to one of them, the other was a 1700n which had extra memory. They are very tonere efficient and fast.

Ebay is nice but I'd be wary of getting tech stuff there. If you go that route, go with someone that has a high positive feedback count.
