Sat Closing

Have any of ever entered into a house and you wish you could turn around and go back out. I had a closing Saturday, and when I pulled up into the driveway, I just looked and said " Holy s***!" I didn't even want to sit on the furniture. I've never been in one so filthy. The people were really sweet and nice, but I'll never understand how people can live like that. Yuck!!!

Susan Re: Sat Closing

Susan,

I recently had a signing where the people were also very nice. One was even a "white collar" professional. However, their home was anything but nice! There was a large dog and several cats! The smell almost made me vomit (literally)! Plus, durring the signing, a small roach popped out onto the table, and the guy killed it with one of the documents (that he had just signed)! Nothing was said, and the signing continued. . .

Been there, done that.Smile It took me three days to get over the smell! The problem is the people in the home are so used to it they don't smell it as any different. Won't go into detail on the rest of the "stuff" around, but it was awful.

Discretion

We should be cautious discussing borrowers' homes. SS and TCs read these posts and know who you are. Judge not, lest ye be judged.....

Re: Discretion

You know this is the so called water cooler for us. We are discussing daily situations that occur in our line of work, and not making judgements. No names are mentioned so no borrower is harmed. And next time you want to play disciplinarian on the boards grow a pair, pick a handle, and pull the plank out of your own eye first.

Re: Susan Re: Sat Closing

I have been to several house where the conditions were "less than sanitary". All you can do is sit there and hope in the back of your mind that it goes quickly!
One house was so bad that I literaly had to hurdle over piles of garbage and clutter to get to the dining room table. The borrower's were also very nice people and I believe that they thought there was nothing wrong with the way they lived. YUCK
