Signing Company-Signatures Plus

I took an assignment on 1/21/06, it took over 10 phones calls, numerous emails and 5 1/2 months to get a trip fee of $45.00, and THEN IT BOUNCED, I found out after checking my online business account. I will receive notification in the mail in about 5 business days! They can easily verify that their check bounced if they have not already received notification by calling their bank. I called again to tell them of "this mistake", and left a message for the owner Melody (who was suppose to be there in 10 minutes) to please have her call me. Three hours later I called again, she had left the office, so I told them unless I received payment with the additional fees included by Wed. 7/5/2006 (the next week) that I would turn it over to the appropriate CA District Attorneys office. They told me that until they received faxed documentation (The letter my bank will send me showing the bounce and additional fees) they would do nothing. They know that they bounced the check I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get paid for services rendered 6 months ago.

So do not do any signings for this company unless you like working for free!

You may want to consider using the search feaature here on Not Rot for other NSA's experiences in dealing with SS's when accepting assignments from SS's.
Most of us here already are aware of the negative financial issues with S Plus.
Sorry they took advantage of you.
It is their MO

Send them a registered letter asap

Stating that you will be filing criminal charges. Most CA DA's take a very dim view of this practice and will prosecute. Include all cost including the letter in your demand for payment. They could make a call to their bank and verify Infufficient Funds. They are simply another SS who's business model uses the subs money to make their payroll. Send the letter and follow up....

Thanks, I did that earlier today. I just hate that we are expected to take with little that they offer for our services and then we have to fight like "HELL" to collect what is owed, and then they act like we are unreasonable.

Re: Send them a registered letter asap

See below on what alyson wrote too me! Well I got the certified receipt back today. I just emailed her and told her that I am not kidding that I will be filling with small claims on 7/5/06. I let her know that I know I should of received my check today at the latest if she truly did send it out on Tuesday. I mean come on I live 9 miles from their office. Even if they sent the check via piegeon carrier I would of gotten it by now. What about a class action suit?

Christine

Hi, I have emailed a few times regarding unpaid invoices dating back to April. Can of you please give me guidance on when I am going to get paid? I would greatly appreciate a response to my email.

Thank you,
Christine Eyres

Christine...9 miles and you're not knocking on their door?

Makes it much more difficult to lie to you when you're staring them in the face.

...and do it when you have plenty of time to wait

since they'll still attempt to give you the runaround right there in the office. Good luck!

well as I see it there are two choices...

go there and take a kid who'll scream their brains out because they're tired (this works well if you're at the automobile repair shop too) OR pack a lunch and let it be obvious to everyone you're there until you get satisfaction (this one worked for me at the attorney's office).

Re: Christine...9 miles and you're not knocking on their door?

Been there, done that (175 miles each way, tho- but they owed me $750, worth the drive to me Smile )
Boy, they sure can be different when they look into your eyes, right after you say
Hi, I'm Misty. I have an appointment with Jane Doe in accounting to pick up my
check for the Brown signing I did for you 8 weeks ago.
There seems to have been a mix-up with the postal service, I think.
Just smile, smile, smile......while they sweat, sweat, sweat.......

If you have there address please forward it. I'm in Oklahoma, I believe they are far more than 9 miles away.

File in small claims, and then arrange to get it heard on Judge Judy or one of those TV courts, for maximum exposureSmile

Re: Send them a registered letter asap

yeah imagine that Judge Judy! She is vicious! I went to their office last week actually and I did take my 19 month old daughter but supposedly Alyson asst manager wasn't in that day. So I waited an hour for someone else, no one from accounting would talk to me. That is when I decided to send them a registered letter. Alyson just emailed me and told me to call her on Monday if I don't get a check by then. I told her back in an email don't you mean Wednesday since your office is closed monday for the Holiday.

Please send me there address. Not one piece of the confirmation form they sent me shows a physical address, only a landline and an email.

AMEN! I closed a lone for them in March in Mobiel, Alabama and they still have not paid and will not return calls! "Melody is out sick" or "gone to lunch". All lies! I contacted the loan officer and she is looking into it for me. I hope the Mortgage company doesn't use signatures plus again and I hope other notaries read this and put them out of business by not working for them! We have to stick together!!!!!
