Slow loading (2nd Request)
I posted a couple of days ago about NotRot being slow to load. It has been that way for several days now. I sent a message to "contact us" and have seen nothing come back, but it's still slow. I use Firefox to read this forum, but I just now switched to IE, and it is just as bad. I keep clicking on a post and nothing happens for up to 50+ seconds, then the next few posts will open immediately, then a couple will not open for 30-60 seconds. Anyone else getting this, or is it just me? It is really painful to try to read this forum, and has been since Sunday.

Did you or your computer install any updates before Sunday, browser, firewall, spyware or virus upgrades maybe?
When I got my most recent Dell, I was surprised to discover that it goes out looking for upgrades and installing them BY ITSELF like a teenager sneaking out of the house at night, and it only tells me what it did after it's all over.
Now, it hasn't been a problem for me because I rarely customize any of my settings, I don't like to fool with the technology any more than I have to - and this after years of working in software development when I had to fool with it all the time. . .

Yes, I did; a new browser version, but I have disabled what I could on it to check to see if that's the problem, and it seems not. This does NOT happen on 'that other board' or anywhere else I go, so I don't *think* that's the problem. I may go back to the old version and see. Firefox has been telling me for some time now that there was a new version, and while unsuccessfully trying to print out a set of docs, the notice came up without my noticing it, and I must have OKed the D/L because it started while I was messing with that. But, thanks for the thought. I did go try IE, but that did the same thing. Wish Harry would chime in, but I have received nothing from my question to him.

Re: Slow loading (2nd Request) Rick this has occasionally
happened to me also in the past, running fine today. Also Harry may be busy, it has sometimes taken a day or two perhaps more to get a response from time to time, but I do always get a hear back.....ALWAYS!

Harry does get more emails than he can handle some days, give him time.
I downloaded new Firefox, too, later accused IT of adding "something" that increased my FTP upload time. I didn't realize the connection until you mentioned it. I also get browser freeze when I have too many browser windows open. Nothing I can't live with, however.
You might ping Firefox to see if they have had any similar reported issues with the latest version.

Marlene, I have been to the FF forums and asked but got nothing. However, Harry must have been working on it, because late yesterday PM it got better, and today it seems fine, so far. Wonder why no one else had the problem, though. (Maybe I'm special!)
