Terri, I asked about this the last time you posted about the luncheon. Why are you having an AFLAC agent give a presentation on health insurance when AFLAC doesn't sell health insurance?

Actually, calinotary, I felt that your previously posted comment was retorical in form, thus did not require an answer. AFLAC may or may not be a primary provider of Health Insurance, it's still going to be a presentation about Health Insurance. I, just like all other attendees, will find out exactly what the information is that will be presented. So instead of making retorical comments that serve no purpose, why don't you come to the luncheon and find out for yourself?
That way you can then post a message about exactly what was presented.

If I understand correctly, AFLAC is a disability insurance provider. I also thought that you can not obtain AFLAC as an individual but only through a group policy. If the representative gives information to the contrary, would you mind passing that along Terri? I can't make the meeting, but would be interested in obtaining the info. Thanks!

Unless things have changed since I worked for them, AFLAC offers a very limited number of it's products on an individual basis, and disability insurance isn't one of them. They offer accident insurance, cancer insurance, and I think one other product individually. And the nature of our jobs, which require so much driving, means that we get the worst rates for their accident insurance.

Re: Thanks Cali, that answers my question. I thought so...
I would be interested in individual disability insurance only. Thanks again!

Excuse me?
You thought me asking why a representative from a company that doesn't sell health insurance is giving a presentation on health insurance was rhetorical? Give me a freaking break, you're not that ignorant Terri.
"AFLAC may or may not be a primary provider of Health Insurance"
There's no may or may not about it. They are NOT providers of health insurance, they sell supplemental insurance which has a completely different purpose than health insurance. If you're inviting somebody to give a presentation at the luncheon you're organizing, why wouldn't you at least make the effort to know exactly what it is they're presenting?
I'd bet my rent money that it's not going to be a presentation about health insurance, but a sales pitch for AFLAC products. I don't think it's asking too much for you to accurately portray what is going to be presented. I know I'd be pissed if I drove 60 miles to hear what I thought was a presentation about how to obtain medical insurance as a self employed person, and all I got was a sales pitch for supplemental accident and cancer insurance.
Does THAT show the purpose of my question a bit more clearly?
