Sox Signing Solutions in So. Cal.

Has anyone done work for these guys lately?? Understand that they are a very low and slow payer. Got a call from them for a notary closing. When it came to the subject of fees, the lady admitted that they are a low payer, $45 for overnight docs. She also stated that they have tons of work in the Nor Cal area in my neck of the woods. This got me thinking.. Does the volume economics apply here.. Scenerio.. 0- 3 assignments per week from ss paying a decent fee of $90 and up Vs. 1-10 assignments for $65 each...

When I first got stared in the biz, I had a few companies offer me fees
of less than what I was asking. They said they had lots of work in my area,
and asked if I would agree to a "volume discount".
I have been in marketing for years, and this is not only reasonable, in some
fields it is commonplace.
I agreed.
BAD MOVE!
I found that as soon as the assignment was finished, I got my paltry fee,
but no other calls from that particular co.
I called to see if they had an issue with the quality of my work.
"No, it was perfect! We just don't have any work in your area"
BE CAREFUL, some companies will BS you to get you to take the
lower fees. They may PROMISE you the world, but either won't or can't follow through.

So you're familiar with this company and you're still asking if it's worth doing work for them?

The only economics you need to know is that it doesn't matter how much you charge if they don't bother to pay you in the first place.

And no, unless you're somehow GUARANTEED a certain number of signings per week (which really doesn't happen in this industry) then volume economics aren't something you should even consider.

Re: yes, go and do signing for SOX, only if you work for fre

I have worked for SOX, got $135 for refinance mortgage with eDOCs, been paid (as long as you follow their system and use their invoice, you will, too), just be careful what the details are for assignments that you accept from them.

MANY people here will say "go ahead if you feel like you want to work for free" or something simpilar, but it's hardly the reality of the situation in my experience and the experience of many others. Many folks seem to just not know how to follow easy instructions .......

And, since you obviously have other clients, too, what's the harm in having one more to send you work? Like I said, just be careful and qualify each job's specifics ........

95% of the people on this board would disagree with you. You're saying NONE of them followed the invoice instructions carefully?

Your time will come.
