Star Closing Services
I have several past due invoices for Star Closing Services in Owings Mills, MD. All invoices are 45 - 60 days from date of signing. Anyone else have this experience with this company?

They only pay if and when they get paid . We had a problem when we were not paid and finally found out it was because the borrowers rescinded. That is not my problem and after threatening to take action, the owner did pay a trip and print fee. We will not be doing business with this company or any other that has this policy. There are enough good companies that know they will not get the best to handle their closings if they have this policy and they do pay regardless.

All invoices are paid upon receipt from the Title companies on the following pay period. Anyone who has specific questions or concerns may contact me, Dawn Hamby, President of Star Closing Services, Inc. directly at 410-608-6223. I have been aggressively working with the Lenders to ensure that the Title companies are disbursing ALL payments in a timely manner. For the most part all invoices have been brought up to date and paid current within 30 days of signing. Star Closing Services, Inc. has never not paid a Notary or Licensed Settlement Agent for services that they have performed.

Dawn, you're the one who hires the notaries. When and if you get paid by the title company isn't our problem. You hire us, you pay us in a timely manner, you keep us out of any problems you might have collecting from the company that hired you. It's just that simple.
