Venturing into Loan Signing

Hi, as some of you may know already, I'm relatively a newbie notary. I have done a few (about a hundred) notarizations. Now that I certified NSA, I am ready to get into Loan Signing. Though I have done the course and I guess I know what I need to do, I'm pretty sure a bit nervous about the first job.
Is there anyone willing to help me out showing first hand an actual signing from end to end?
I am not asking you to take me along on an assignment you have gotten. Instead, I'm willing to work it on an assignment I've received myself. You can either let me do the actual signing and help me do it or you can do it yourself and show me how you do it. Either way you get the pay for the job. If you are interested and live in the SF Bay area, let me know.

Mike, if you don't get any takers you might feel more comfortable if you could order the video from the above link. I have not seen it, but others here might be able to shed some light. I know that Bob from Chicago thinks this lady does notaries right.

You should be careful not to try this full time unless you have a steady income.

Thaks for the warning Joe.
Yes, I do have a full time job that pays me twice a month without fail and I don't even have to send invoices Smile But the life in California is getting tougher day by day for low income people and I have to find other sources

That's a pretty honorable offer if you ask me. Just off the hip, if it were someone in my area, I would decline it, however, if a person would make the trip worth my while, I'd theoretically go as far as sixty miles to do the job. I'd ask to be paid on the spot. Just some real life comments which may help you.

I'm with Brenda (as always!)

If a local new Notary asked me for that kind of deal I would refuse, but if somebody from a ways away were willing to pay me, I'd be happy to do sit with them while they did the signing. I'd keep notes, not interfere (unless it got dangerous!), and sit with the new Notary after the signing and discuss what went right and what could be improved.

Good suggestion, Brenda!

Re: Venturing into Loan Signing "if you can't find any taker

I'm still waiting to be cleared by DOJ. But I can remember in March/06 when my son 22 got his first signing job. Just so happen for some reason I called him that evening I felt I needed to check on him. Well I'm glad I did that's when I learned he got his first job.

He admitted he was nerous...I told him that I was so happy I called him. I told him to take a deep breath, take your time. I asked did he have time to review the docs he said yes...He told me he had highlighted all the signature and initals to be signed.

Then I started my encouragement...I told him you passed the test. So you kinda know what you suppose to do right? yes I said okay then!! Take your time and ask God to see you through this. (not to say you have to go this route) tell yourself...I need the money!!! I want to get another job from this company and that you CAN do this!!

Don't be afraid to make mistakes....think of it being your first time on the job and learn from your mistakes if any. Get this first signing under your belt and this evening will be history!! You'll only get better from today. I know what you're feeling and I'm sure when my day come I will have the same fears. But when I tell myself you have to do this and the money is good!! I generally sail through it.

You'll be a great signing agent!! Just trust yourself and say I CAN do this!! You will come to the board and say I'm not sure what I was so unsure about and laugh to the next signing!!

I have faith in you!! You can do this!! Go over your doc's like my teacher say read the instructions and do what the instructions tell you and no more!!

Good Luck you'll do just fine!!
