Who bought Ameriquest / Argent / Town & Country?

Anyone know?

I've heard Chase bought it.

I've heard HFC/BFC bought it.

I thought Argent already owned them, though I have not heard too much more since Ameriquest closed all their retail offices in Wisconsin. I'm not surprised, nor am I sad. I used to close loans for them through a signing company based out of Indianapolis. Their (AmQ) AE's were nasty and treated us like sh*!. I can't tell you how often we were reselling the loan at closing because the borrower's AE had lied about their interest, monthly payment, etc.
I work for a full service title company now, and do witness closings on the side. Much better like of work!

I think AMC is still up for sale.

Argent was their wholesale division, and was a part of AMC/Argent/Long Beach etc....

I believe it was HSBC that they were trying to sell off to.

Someone posted awhile back that they were in an Ameriquest Branch when it was closed down. I believe in that thread something was stated that HSBC bought Ameriquest.
