Wow, I have heard it all now!!!!
I recieved a call from a company that I do alot of closings for and I could not meet the borrowers at the time that they wanted( I already had another closing at that time and borrowers were not flexible on time)..The company said thank you and said that they would call someone else.About 2 hours later they called back and explained to me that the closer took the assignment and started to print the docs, then they realized that they were out of toner and the stores close to them were out as well. they called the company and told them that if they wanted the signing done that they would have to give an addtional $25.00 as the notary had to drive 25 miles to the next store that had there toner in stock.. Some people in this business blow me away with garbage like this..It is people like this that give loan signing agents a bad name....I always have extra supplies on hand in case of an emergency...Unreal....Have a good day everyone.Jimmy

Re: This is another one to add to that list..Any comments?
I received a call for a closing....didn't want to meet my fee so they called someone else... Day of the closing I get a call 1 1/2 hrs before the 8:00 appt. & was asked if I was still available since the "other notary" that took the assignment (at the lower fee) wasn't able to print the docs because they didn't have legal size paper....Well, I politely told them I could not make it at that time...it was more than an hour's drive and had to print the docs so I excused myself and thought "Next time they'll know better". I get at least one of these type of calls a month. The SS is always looking for a lower priced notary and when they get them they aren't as good as they claim to be and the SS comes back to me "with their tail between their legs". You'd think they would learn after a while wouldn't you? OR....should I have "ran full speed ahead" to get them out of the jam they were in?

Ooh, ooh, my turn!
Did a signing for someone three weeks ago. After we were finished, he said he was going to be signing on another property and he's going to tell his l.o. that he wants me back for that signing. Last night at 7 p.m., in between my 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. appointment, I get a frantic call. "We had a 7 p.m. appointment scheduled, notary can't print docs, please help us." I'm three miles from their office at the time, so I call my 8 p.m., ask them if I could make it 8:30, I pick up docs at the office and get to the appointment by 7:20 p.m. Lo and behold, it's the guy from three weeks ago. He's been expecting me the whole time and is surprised to hear about the situation. Now, couldn't they have avoided all this last minute scrambling if they'd just done what the borrower asked in the first place and assigned it to me right away instead of only after they were looking for Superman to the rescue again?

Well, Al...
They know that Superman charges more, so they were hoping for Mighty Mouse... Ah, yeah... you'd think they'd learn. Eventually. Soon. Maybe some day.
