2nd Jobs Survey

When I started my signing business I thought it would be just something to fill my time with as a 2nd job. Now it seems like I have 2 full time jobs. I was just curious to see if being a Signing Agent is your 2nd job, what is your 1st. I am an Environmental Health & Safety Director for a Manufacturing plant. Cheers.

Re: 2nd Jobs Survey - Notary & NSA, my first jobs are

Real estate agent, Loan Originator, and I am applying for an insurance producers license. I like to do the whole enchilada, womb to the tomb. I actually am planning to hire employees this year, I'll need a couple of insurance producers, a jr loan officer or two, and a transaction assistant, planning on opening an office in Orange County late this Summer.

TLR - 2nd Jobs Survey

When I became a SA, it was a second job. The other job was part-time, and I thought it would work. Then, as you said, the SA became more than the other job, so I just quit that one at the beginning of this year. It's great to be able to say "yes" to signings that need to be done before 5pm! But, I do need to get into the marketing part of it....which I have not done so far. Cheers to you!!

My 'day job' is a paralegal specialist (head) concentrating in Civil Litigation and Administrative law. As of last week, I am now required to engage in CLE for criminal law.

My second job is that of a mobile notary public and constable/process server.

Re: 2nd Jobs -- Administrative Assistant

which means I am dispatch, scheduling, service, AP, AR, Billing, customer service, mailroom, receptionist, sales, fleet manager, and "other duties as may be required". FT job includes OT, so notary is really 2nd FT at times (especially EOM)

Full time signing agent..

Tried to do the part time thing for awhile, while working as a Foreclosure Specialist and then a Closing Coordinator for REO properties in a large bank, but liked being a NSA job better, plus as you stated, it was like having 2 full time jobs.

That, along with a 4 and 10 year old and a hubby who worked nights, was just getting to be a bit much for me! Since becoming a full time NSA last year, I haven't regretted giving up my 15 years in the corporation industry one bit!

It is always amazing to hear that people enjoy there work. I know we all have a lot of the same frustrations as a NSA. I think all in all this is a great job. I do think it would be better if it was all I did. My wife teaches college math at the local university. She has been thinking of going full time NSA. Anyway, thank to all for sharing. Cheers.
