Thanks Patricia Wilson for the referal...I was told by her that two other notaries in my area quit due to the market.

Wow gas just went from 2.25 to 2.39 at the cheapest place and was told it's gonna get worse.

I think the squatting agents around here are folding also. I have that impression anyhow. My phone is ringing more often for low fee offerings. It's a start. I won't go down on the base fee but I do "take heart" today at the low offers because that means they are calling me as a last resort.

Me too. Today, I got two calls for the same signing, from two different SSes. It's edocs and about 40 minutes driving time each way. First SS offered $85 and the second was $60. Unbelievable.

I don't think I'll hear back that either one of them got my fee "approved". Why they can't just be up front and say the can't pay that much and "we won't bother you any more".

maybe that explains the rash of new companies calling and not budging off $50. They must have been used to paying that.

I've been booking up quickly as well. I like the sound of a ringing phone!
