Anyone get an email about living trusts?

from a trust company? They want us to (after the signing is complete) ask the borrowers if they have a living trust and if not would they like free info. Then we send the company their info. Thats getting pretty brash isn't it? I can't imagine what ss's and title cos would say about that ( well, yes I can, and it isn't nice)
I've never talked to these people and don't intend to, but where did they get my email addy. This addy is only used for signings et al. So whoever is selling our address, be careful, you may not like the results!

Wow! Very interesting info....

I think our email addresses can be sold all the time? I have AOL and I did not read every word of the "contract" when I signed up. That was 5 years ago. I assume that my email address is added to many list because I get so much "junk" mail. You should be able to respond to it by telling them to take you off thier mailing list. Some have links at the bottom of the email allowing you to do so.

The Living Trust part? Hmmm...I would be very careful about this...and do lot's of research before doing so. It doesn't surprise me though..I live in Florida and the trust issue has become a "big deal" with the Terri Schiavo case...a Florida notary can notarize a Living Trust without an attorney being present so maybe this company has figured out a way to use our signings as thier customer base. Pretty slick...

And by doing so you're confirming that yes, they have found a working email address that somebody is checking, which is guaranteed to get you on even more email lists.

You've got my curiosity up Beth,

How does one bounce an e-mail? I didn't know you could do this.

Re: You've got my curiosity up Beth,

For me, I just have to right click on the email in my in box. I don't open it. Or I can do it by using the drop down marked "messages" and select the Bounce option there.

Re: Charles, I looked and found my bounce option with the

block sender option. But, I can't do this with my Hotmail account. At least I couldn't find the option for that account. Hope this helps.

Thanks Beth. Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express as your e-mail? Or are you using one of the others?
