Brenda or Kelly......
do either of you know an "easy" way to locate info on these new laws that are being proposed which will regulate us..ie new Fraud/Identity Theft Act, newest version of the Patriot Act and Title 18 U.S. Code.
You both seem to keep up with all the current things going on and there are many rumors floating around. For example, under the Fraud Act it would be illegal to do faxbacks, under Title 18 it would be illegal to photocopy anything with a SS# on it, etc. In Florida..the borrower's right to privacy is being considered when doing a journal entry ie. driver's license number.
Please feel free to email me if you are uncomfortable with the "peanut gallery" making mean spirited comments about your response. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping we have a signing agent association soon that can oversee these type issue's but also hire a lobbyist on our behalf. Thanks in advance...

Re: Snide comments will get you a rep you don't want....
It's sad that you don't get along with the "peanut gallery." It seems to me that this morning the only one making mean spirited comments is you.
Your snide comments are just your way of keeping the posters talking about you. You love the attention.

. . .in checking the postings, we can see that FlaMac wasn't the only one making mean-spirited comments this morning.

Marlene..it wasn't meant to be mean-spirited..what I said..
was in use of the word "peanut gallery". A far cry from the small group of poster's that are causing problems by using profanity, gossiping about others openly and insulting people simply because they have a differing opinion. They have proven that they are not the least bit interested in what the majority wants or how they present themselves. And from what I'm told..they have been causing problems for a very long time. It's time for a new era. A positive one where people are treated with common decency and respect. Obviously, these few are unaware of how many people/companies read this forum. They are truly the minority.

FlaMac: I find it quite ironic that you refuse to see that you are the problem. What you call a differing opinion is bad, wrong and misinformation when it comes to notary law. As for what the majority want, open your eyes, it's not you.
"Obviously, these few are unaware of how many people/companies read this forum."
Yes, obviously, YOU are unaware!

I'm not Brenda or Kelly, but here's a suggestion. The "easiest" way I know to research things like this is probably on the internet using Google or Dogpile or one of the other many search engines. For example, to follow the Patriot Act saga, after doing a simple Google search (terms I used: "proposed Patriot Act" yield a link to the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network's "What's New" page - http://www.fincen.gov/wn_main.html where you can find lots of good, solid information about what's going on in the government. This, plus many other governmental sites are at your disposal if you are just willing to take the time to do the research.
