COUNTRYWIDE...MANY FAX BACKS

I forgot and took a Countrywide loan through a SS. First and second loan which required 49 pages to be faxed back. The SS had predicted about 20 to 25. And then, no mail info until after the quality control examines the 49 pages. I had to fax in by 10 am my time. They said the directiions for sending back will come sometime in this afternoon. Our last pick up today (Saturday) was at noon. So, they will get docs on Tuesday. What a deal, for them.
PS: the docs came 45 minutes before the signing time, glad the B was more patient than I was...Lessong: what is the name of the loan company should be asked all the time and also ask how many fax backs. I am always learning, however, I am also always forgetting.
Have great weekend.

Now when they call I add fees to the price for faxbacks and splitpacks... My time is not free.

I do not mind CW loans..... they seam to be the correct numbers, rates and easy to follow....

I have found CW pays according to the work. Their borrowors seem to be better informed. There never seems to be any suprises at the table, only the DOT is notarized. I have always been paid promptly. Yeah, they have fax backs & split returns but it takes the same amount of time as I spend less time getting the loan signed. Usually, the fax backs are to an 800 number and when they are not, I just forward the fax through my cell phone that has free long distance and don't pay for it anyway. (Oops, I gave away a competitive edge) I take all I can get.

Hey Glenn can you share on how you fax thru your cell?

Sure ...

I have Cingular that also has roll over, so I have plenty of minutes. All I do is set my phone to forward to the fax number in question, then turn my cell off. Then I call my cell with my fax machine it forwards to the number I want to fax to and presto!! Also, I only have one phone number on my webpage and listings on NR and others. When home, I have it set to forward to my home number or when visiting a relative or friend and I know the cell service is questionable in that area, I forward it to wherever I am at and I never miss any calls and only need to post one phone number, (except for the My Fax account number of course)

Also, a little advice on signing times.

The lenders, TC's and the SS's know up front that I set my own appointments and I don't set the appointments until I get the docs. This approach prevents a lot of problems, lets you do more per day if you are that busy that day. First in, first out.

Re: Also, a little advice on signing times.

Thats great Glenn! but the only thing is, when you turn off your cell, it will prevent you from
getting any calls at that particular time, and you know one missed call its a missed signing if
its from a good SS that know you, they will leave a voicemaill, but its great idea anyways!

Thanks for sharing.

Oops, wrong key again ...

Anyway, I do my fax backs at night after the day is done. No one calls at 8pm or later to hire us (usually) anyway. It needs to fit into your system. It does save several dollars per year, though.

You could also leave your phone on and hit the ignore button

after you verify the number on the caller id.

Re: I don't really worry about that as ..

What I am doing now, I scan it to my pc, and then e mail the "fax". I see that a 12 page
fax its like 900kb, so its not that big, and the fax its very clear. Do you know if SS take
"e mail faxes" ?

Re: I don't really worry about that as ..

It would depend on the ss or the lender. Countrywide wants faxes. I only have a flat bed scanner and it is a pain in the neck to scan each page and I don't want to buy another scanner, so the fax maching through the cell phone works for me.

Re: I don't really worry about that as ..

Thanks for all the responses. I learned alot.

And I liked the info about using your cell phone for faxing. Now you need to develop a step by step, numbered set of directions for Dummies, then I could understand it better.

The movie, 16 Blocks was great. Bruce Willis looks old ( and he is) and the movie had a positive ending.

Email faxes through EFAX go to their fax machine just like a normal fax not their email

I have had the great luck of getting many CountryWide closings lately through one client office, and yes, there are many pages to fax back, including the whole DOT, 9 to 14 pages, because they have an initial slot on the bottom of every page!

I had been using a flatbad scanner for faxes ........ but when I started getting more than 25 pages to do I went to Fry's, bought a Panasonic KX-FHD331 fax machine for $69 (with a $50 rebate!). Makes the many page job a lot easier.

My client says CountryWide may decide later to discontinue the process as it also adds duties to them as well, and as they streamline their processes they might do away with them.

I negociated and extra fee for the faxbacks when they accure, as my time is not free either, but gave them a real break on the price as they are sending MANY assignments. It all works out!

ByTheWay, if you have eFAX, be sure you're not paying for your sent faxes. Incoming are free on my account, but sending COSTS much more than long distance. Be aware!!
